"Mum! Dad! Where are we going?" Both twins, Raven and Snow shouted from the back of the beaten up station wagon, their mother chuckled at them as they shouted in unison, she was a beautiful woman and she knew that her kids would keep that in the family, and hopefully more, but they were too young yet and she didn't want the UP's to take their children away - just as she had been. The father also smiled from the front of the wagon, his long raven black hair falling into his dark piercing blue eyes constantly, they were on a quiet road early in the morning, all of the family in the car were a little tired but the parents had a surprise for the twins' birthday,

"Hurry up Dan, the sun is almost up!" The mother was almost more excited than the kids, she had always been a childish woman however keeping her womanly dignity in the process. The golden sun had appeared slowly climbing above the rocky walls along the road, they quickly came to the end of the road and got out with the young twins. They ran ahead, knowing what was over the sand dunes in front of them while the parents stayed back, holding hands and letting the twins have some fun together. As the twins got over the sand dunes and looked down at the sandy beach filled with pink light, they noticed all the presents at the beach front, wrapped in silver wrapping paper - it looked more like they had raided a large Walmart by the amount of presents they had got - who the parents loved dearly and ran down to the beach front filled with anew energy. Little did they know it was the their last. After hours of opening presents, their mother got a small package from her husbands jacket, the package was wrapped in newspaper, bubble wrap and some other protective materials, before nodding at him, she gave it over to the twins who rushed to open it through all the packaging, like a game of pass the parcel but the parents knew that this was anything but. Inside lay a pendant necklace, silver in the shape of a heart and broken into two, one for each of the twins.

"You two must look after this with your life, nothing and nobody but you must know about this. When the right time comes, and if we are not there to help then you must find a way to use it - I believe in you - . The heart is broken into two because of ancient  folklore.

' Back before even electricity, there were meant to be two sister guardian angels protecting the city from all evil, one was pure as snow, with beautiful snowy white wings while the other black luxurious wings. However, when both angels acquainted with a boy from the local area, they each fell in love with him, and when they both found out, a rift was created in their friendship. Little did they know that the boy they had both fallen in love was just a way for the sisters to fight and be destroyed in the Demons larger plans for the town. When the negative emotions took over, evil walked straight into the city and began to destruct the whole city, both sisters were so blinded with rage and jealousy, they killed each other - driving stakes through both of their hearts in unison, instantly killing the protecting angels of the town. The boy that was used in the plan was normal and his heart broke in two' The mother indicated both parts of the broken heart, ' and he channeled the power he had from the sisters to kill the demon causing chaos in the town. Saving the city and sacrificing himself. There is said to be strong powers stirring inside the pendant however if evil touches it, their will be a lot of bad things that can happen. Remember what I have said, can I trust you with it?" Raven and Snow shared a look before nodding, knowing that when their mother ever got this serious they needed to do what she said. After finishing the rest of their presents and playing in the sun, they all headed back to the car, the father scooping up the twins, Raven and Snow, and running with both twins screeching in his arms as they all headed back giggling. Buckling up the both, Raven looked a lot like her father with the same dark blue eyes and sharp features while Snow looked a lot more like her mother who had light blue eyes and softer features however Snow and Raven had very un-usual hair coloring's, Raven with completely black hair and Snow with a full head of white hair. "Happy sixth birthday you two trouble makers!" They giggled and their father gave his wife a quick kiss on the lips before starting the car heading down the road going back to the highway. A a black SUV came out of nowhere, suddenly appearing right in front of the beaten wagon, the headlights catching the family like a rabbit caught in headlights, before the wagon smashed head on into the SUV, instantly crushing the front seats of the car. Just before this happened, both parents looked at each other quickly as if preparing for the crash and stared back at the lost twins, just as the bumpers touched, the mother pointed one finger at the special present they had bought that was around their necks.

Raven and Snow sat at the tacky kitchen table, a cupcake for them, half iced in white and the other black, a  candle on each side. Along they sang to the birthday theme tune, 16 today. And they felt a lot older than just 16, after their parents had died, they had to go into foster care as they had no remaining family they knew of, jetted to and fro from house to house, one after another with a horrible secret.  The first started of nice, reminding them a little of the story 'Hansel And Gretel' with her posh house and letting them do whatever they wanted, but all they did was sit in a corner and mourn their parents together in a painful silence. Then the shouting began, she's shout and yell if they had the wrong table manners, Snow would sometimes cry softly and Raven would put an arm around her, taking control. But then the slapping and hitting started and Raven snapped, confronting the evil witch before her with Snow. Her pendant burned against Raven's skin while Snow's froze the skin beneath it. They held hands and focused on the evil lady in front of them, and before they knew it, her skin melted from her body, showing a evil Demon. They had never seen a Demon before today either, but they knew that without thinking they needed to destroy it, as it was evil and had slapped and hit children and adults alike. In unison, both twins pulled up the hand that they were not holding together and pointed their single finger at the Demon, roaring in anger. Dark shadows twisted from Raven's finger, whispering nothings at the Demon while Snow's finger let out white, a pure and innocent color. When both elements united however, they had the power to kill a lot more than just one demon, mixing together but not changing colors - just intertwined what looked like colored mist - and hitting the demon in the chest. They had never had anyone else who loved them, but now they had a chance to have a fresh start, with each of them having a job they could just afford their own small apartment on the bad downtown area. They didn't know of the problems ahead, but at least they had each other... for now.
