NADINE SOLARI HAD NEVER MEANT TO HURT ANYONE. When she had first enrolled into the Imperial Academy, it was only because she had a passion for learning and wanted to please her father. And when she had worked under Galen Erso, it was only because she wanted to be at the leading edge of the galaxy's technological advances. Nadine worked her way through the ranks of the Empire's science officers in the pursuit of innovation. She had become the leading expert in quintessence, the theoretical harnessing of dark energy for large power systems.
THEN THE EMPIRE FALLS AND NADINE'S WORLD FALLS WITH IT. She finds herself alone with only a tainted reputation as her colleagues are either arrested or going into hiding. So she runs, too. With a new name and identifications, Nadine starts a new life teaching and conducting research at the Institute of Applied Sciences on Coruscant.
BUT NADINE KNOWS TOO MUCH. The knowledge inside her head is dangerous. The remnants of the Empire want it and the New Republic can't afford having it fall into the wrong hands. So a price is placed on her head, and a New Republic official reaches out to a former Rebel shock trooper to eliminate her. It's a straightforward job, but Nadine's tracks are covered well. So Cara Dune calls on a certain Mandalorian to help her.
