Catherine watched as Jane sobbed, her heartbreaking into twice as many shards with every tear.

She'd checked no one was coming out the house again, then walked over, sitting next to her girlfriend, placing one arm carefully behind her neck, and one across the front of her body. Cath put her head on Jane's shoulder as she held her.

"Hun, can we stop these tears? It's not good for you or the baby, " She leant closer and whispered.

Jane pulled down her left sleeve so it covered her clenched fist, and raised it up to her eyes, gently brushing each tear away.

"I'm so sorry, " She whispered, tears welling again as she collapsed into Catherine. Cath sighed sympathetically before stroking Jane's soft blonde hair.

"Baby, you did nothing wrong, this is not your fault, you hear me?" Cath said firmly but soft, giving Jane a sense of security.

Jane nodded before realizing all the problems she'd ran into, causing her to break down again.

"I can't be a good mother! I have to sleep on the streets!"

Cath sighed sympathically again, brushing Jane's hair with her fingers, before speaking.

"Hun, would I ever let you sleep on the streets? Hmm? And you are the kindest, most caring person I know, and you will be a fantastic mother, I promise. And if you need any help, I'll be right here, all the time, "  It broke Cath to see her usually strong girlfriend collapsing in tears on her lap.

"How?" She sniffed, drying her eyes, "How will you not let me sleep on the streets, I've got nowhere to go, "

"Yes you have. It's called my house, " Cath smiled at her.
