There were three phrases I heard growing up, "Lilly, girls don't do that" or "Lilly women don't become that" or more often than not, "Lilly you would never be anyone or get anyone dressing like that." Well, let me tell you that I didn't listen to those suckers. I got a job as a mechanic, in fact, I am on my way to owning my own shop. But they were darn right about the boyfriend thing. I guess guys don't like a southern belle turned beer drinking, fast food eating, boxer wearing, high heel killing, twenty something year old with car oil and grease stains in her dyed red hair religiously. When you're twenty something, and everyone around you is getting married, dating or living the "good life," it tends to make a twenty something year old feel weird and act weird. I know this because I am going through the struggle of everyone moving forward in life...except me.
