The bright glowing moonlight lit up the sidewalk and street while the wind brushed against your hair. The cold breeze made you shiver but also brought warm determination to your soul.

Today had been any normal day really. You had been taken a nice walk around the block after a good day of babysitting for a friend of yours. Toriel had welcomed you into the monster family as soon you proved to be an old friend of their child, Frisk. In fact, some of them even grown attached to you.

For example, a certain skeleton had grown comfortable around you. One known to crack a pun or joke in the worst times possible, making you snort but pissing off his brother nonstop. You couldn't help but also feel very comfortable around him as you go to him when you need to talk to someone, need a good laugh or just need a giant bear hug. Which he told you he didn't mind at all.

You slammed into something hard which driven you out of your thoughts, only to look up and see a familiar punny skeleton. His permanent lazy grin seemed to grow when you finally noticed him.

"Heya," He started.

A smile was brought to your lips when you pointed out that he was in a good mood.

"Howdy, Sans. What brings out you out here?" You raised an eyebrow with a grin and continued. "Already finished with that pun book I gave you?"

Sans responded with a chuckle and his white pupils seem to glow in the dark foggy midnight.

"You know me," He raised his arms to shrug and winked at you. "Haven't even started on it."

Both of you cracked up, knowing very well that was true.

"By the way," A boney hand was gently placed on your shoulder, causing to you look back up at the skeleton. Only to be met with darken eyesockets, missing their friendly white pupils.

Your eyes widen in slight fear and your breath hitched.

"If you see anything strange or out of place, call me on your phone right away." The serious tone in his normally deep voice made you flinch and step back slightly. Within a second, his glowing eyes returned and he flashed a grin. "You have my phone number, don't you?" Sans finished.

The skeleton flinched when your warm soft hand was set on top of his and your smile returned back to your face.

You looked up at him with a gentle look in your eyes which made his glare soften.

"I'll be okay, Sans. No need to worry about me," Your trademark dorky grin appeared on your lips. "I will call you right away if I see-" You bit your lip in thought. "If I see copies of you or something." You giggled slightly at your own joke and pulled his skeleton hand up to your cheek and leaned into his touch.

"I promise."

After a moment of comfortable silence, Sans' hand shifted in your grasp.

"Okay, kid.." He finally replied with faint dust of blue blush that had spread across his cheekbones. You opened your eyes realizing that you had shut them for a min there, only to see Sans' gaze on you with a soft smile of his own.

The look of trust.

"It's a promise."

The door of your home creaked open once unlocked and you lazily stepped inside. Quickly setting down your bag, you stretched back earning you a satisfying crack in your lower spine.
