Chapter 1.🤍

~Amelia POV~
I had just came home from school when I saw my mom and dad sitting in the living room, like they were waiting for me. I dropped my things on the table and walked over to them.

Amelia: Hey guys is everything okay?
Mom: Sweetie can you please sit down, your father and I have something we want to tell you.

My heart was racing fast because they had been fighting to get their marriage fixed and I feared that this was the end of them.

Amelia: Umm ok..
Dad: Your mother and I can't be together anymore. We've tried to fix things but we just can't anymore.
Amelia: What?!
Mom: Sweetie we all know this is for the best and now we can finally be happy and not fight like we always do.
Amelia: Ok so what's going to happen?
Mom: Well obviously we're not going to be living together. I was offered a job in New Jersey and I want you to come with me.
Dad: Hey woah that was never the plan. My daughter is staying here with me in Florida and that's final!
Mom: It's not your decision to make it's hers for gods sake! Sweetheart I know this has been really hard on you but I need you to make up your mind on who you want to stay with.
Amelia: ok but I need a time.
Dad: You have till tomorrow!

My dad got up and got a beer out of the fridge and walked over to his office and slammed the door. I just looked at my mom with tears in my eyes. I got up and grabbed my stuff and went to my room without saying anything. I ran upstairs and locked my door and cried. I lost track of time because I had been in my bed, crying for the past I don't how long. I got up and decided to go skate downtown to get my mind off things for a bit.

As I was skating, I felt the gentle breeze flow on me and it made me more relaxed. I got to the beach and just watched the sun go down.

Amelia: I'm gonna miss this place, but If I want what's right I need to leave. I can't stay here anymore, not with him..
