"Sweetie it's your first day you don't wanna be late," my mom says for the fourth time this morning. I blindly reach for my phone to once again hit the snooze button on my alarm. Once I hit it I decide maybe I should get up since I am already 30 minutes late.
I pull the covers off of my bed and make my way over to my vanity. About ten minutes into doing my makeup I'm startled by my snoozed alarm going off. I somehow manage to get ready in time to get to school just before the bell rings. I was hoping to get here early so I could figure out the routes I want to take to all my classes. I guess I would have to figure it out as I go but I pretty much know where everything is now.
Most of my classes have people I know in them so the day was pretty easy. So far I have two classes with Zach but in each of them he has other friends so we haven't talked. I've liked Zach for 3 or maybe 4 years now starting with freshman year. We had three classes together and would talk a lot. Sophomore year we didn't have classes and didn't talk but I was still really into him. Junior year I had two classes with him but we only really talked in one of them. I don't think I'm in love or anything and I know that it's never gonna happen so I'm not pursuing him.
I walk into the last class of the day and I've had a really fun day so far which has me pretty riled up. I open the door to my new art class to see Savannah who has spots at a table with Ari. I sit down and I'm relieved that I won't have to stress out about any guys in this class and I'll be free to talk about whatever. This is, until I see Zach walks in. Because he knows me and Ari and nobody else in the room, he sits at our table and starts talking to us. I'm pretending like I'm not freaking out but Savannah knows I'm totally head over heels right now. Ari seems very... excited that he is here and immediately starts flirting and almost showing off to him. As if she would need to do anything to make him like her even though she's one of the prettiest girls in our class. It's pretty fun and refreshing to be able to talk to him and make jokes. Especially with Savannah there considering she has never seen us interact and we will be able to talk about it later.
