I slowly opened my eyes only too see white
I tried moving my left hand but the pain was too much too bear so I gave up on it
"Mrs. McKenzie your away"
I turned towards the door to meet a woman with red hair she was about 5'5 and was in all white
"Who are you, and where the hell am I?"
"Oh goodness dear they told me you would be a feisty one... your in the hospital you passed out two days ago.. I'm your nurse Catrina"
"Ok um can I go now?"
"Heavens no sweetie you'll have too wait till the doctor sees you"
" *fuck this I'm leaving* oh that wouldn't be necessary I'll just self check out"
"Its not a choice mam its mandatory"

I tried moving my hand again why the hell isn't it moving all the way up
"Well I be your even more stubborn than a mule and don't you know is disrespectful to cuss your elders didn't your parents grow you with respect"

I rolled my eyes and looked at my hand
Of course drips I pulled it out my hand immediately regretting it
A few drops of blood was visible from where the tube was in my hands.
I wiped it off on the bed sheet
"Mrs. McKenzie you can not leave your not healthy"
I got up feeling a little light headed shit
I sat back down and blink a few times I noticed a small duffle bag on the chair next too me
"Your friend dropped it off this morning she's still here if you'll like to talk to her"
Lex it had too be her plus she's the only friend I have at this point
"Yeah I'll like too talk to her"
With that she was out the room
Stupid old shit I got up and walked over to the bag I opened it up
Oh boy lex and these dam long clothes.. did she really bring her clothes theres no way its gonna fit like what the hell was she thinking
I digged further into the bag
Finally something that's gonna fit I slipped on the black leggings and baggy T.
I pulled my hair back and slipped on my cap.
"Nyka your..... where the hell do you thing your going sit down"
"Shut up lex I can't stay here I'm leaving"
"Ny they will never let you self check out"
"Nope bout they wouldn't stop you from checking me out" I gave her a smile at the end like girl please I need help getting out of here
"Fine I'll lose if I put up an argument anyways"
She took the duffle bag and held my hand we walked out the room and to the front desk
"Hi hi I'm here to check the patient out off from 202 please"
I kept my head down bot wanting them too see she already took me from the room
"I'm sorry miss bout you can't she has to see the doctor first and with her just losing her baby a few days ago she really shouldn't leave"

"Listen here Peaches let me leave or else I'll pull out of helping your brother stay out of jail even if he's innocent any other lawyer and he's as good as dead"
She swallowed hard "I'll lose my job if I do"
"What's more important your job or your brother"
"You can't be seriously black mailing me"
"Bitch try me"
"Fine I'll let you go just sign here, here and here"
She handed lex a sheet of paper pointing to specific places she had to sign
After she sign we walked out the hospital and into her car
"I can't believe you did that the poor girl looks like she's gonna piss her pants what the hell was that anyways your usually not like this"
"Look lex times change I wanted her help and she needs mines it is what it is now step on it or let me drive I'm fucking hungry"
She shook her head and stepped on it

It's weird how much your happy life can come to an end
Everything you've worked to build from the bottom up just came crashing down after one incident
I sat in the middle of my now empty house watching out the window
I sold the coffee shop resigned as a lawyer after my last case with Peaches brother
I even sold the house
I looked down at the plane ticket in my hands "sweet Caribbean here I come"
I said it softly not wanting anyone to know that I was leaving the country not even Lex knew and I was keeping it that way
She had enough too deal with already a fake engagement, a bitch of fake mother-in-law, and lately that brown envelop I keep a secret from her for three months
I left the envelope below her desk in her little box of snacks
I let out a little laugh shaking my head at the thought of her always eating and not getting fat
I pushed my self up off the floor and headed to the door
I looked back at it for the last time remembering all the happy memories and the sad ones
I sighed locking the door and walked to my car
I got in and headed to the airport not giving my old life a second glance
Nyka McKenzie was dead
