That Poor Kid

He wasn't ready and he didn't know about the bullies at school,

he didn't know he was s'posed to look cool.

He had a rag style and some discount shoes.

When those kids started laughing at him,

he didn't know what to do.

He tried keeping quiet and keepin to himself, but every time he tried, they'd just give him hell.

The sad boy didn't know that being invisible didn't work.

You see, he tried to blend in, but there was always that one quirk.

They knew it was him and they hit him where it hurt.

So the desperate boy tried something else.

He didn't know that snitches got stitches,

he didn't know what happened before they got thrown in ditches.

This scared kid didn't know how to fight so when they started throwing punches he started to cry.

Every kick and every slap sent that beaten kid tumbling back.

This angry kid was trying everything in the book,

a few months passed by and he learned to throw a left hook.

Those poor bullies never saw it coming, it happened so fast they couldn't start running.

That Innocent Kid they never left alone turned out harder any Stallone.

Those bullies finally let him be,

but something was missing, why wasn't' he free?

The bullies off his back gave him time to think.

That lonely kid never had a friend and it pushed him to the brink.

Nobody cared whether he lived or died.

He was a waste of space, another passerby.

Little did he know that those words were lies.

That bullied kid had brothers and sisters whose love went higher than the skies

He couldn't think about the family he would leave behind.

He couldn't understand the sadness, the hurt and the pain they would feel if he pulled that trigger and made those words real.

NOW, are you ready? And here's the twist.

These words, their pain, this story doesn't need to exist.

Don't be a snob,

if you have money or a fancy high paying job.

You aren't a cool person until you help that victim ease the tension.

We all know the Poor Kids. We see them all the time. Be a light, be a step up. Go help those poor kids fight their battles.

To the Poor Kids:

You are NOT a victim, you're a survivor. You matter and people love you. No matter how difficult it seems, it will be worth it to wait it out and see how much stronger you've become. Life has a funny way of breaking people to build them up. Stay Strong!
