Synopsis: "From the Old Scripts of our Ancestors: There are creatures that roam our Land. Monsters, demons, beasts that destroy homes and our food, and take away our very lives. Over the hundreds of vast years, all have been made extinct, by the destruction of Time, and by the work of the humans who have risen against their enemies. By the power of the Ancestors, humans have destroyed every immortal, mythical enemy they possessed......all but one.
The race they call the Hunters. Creatures so fearsome, with skin like the midnight hue of a moonless night, eyes that glitter with the red fire of hell, and teeth so large and sharp they could snap a human in two in less than the blink of an eye. Or so says the legends, for none who ever lays eyes upon one survives to tell their tale.
Ever since the dawn of our memory, The Hunters have taken people to feast on. Though they dwindle in their numbers, no human has ever been able to kill a Hunter, and forever they walk, immortal and terrible. All who hunt the Hunters themselves are lost, for none ever survive when they have been chosen by the beasts. Even with all the magical sorcery of the Ancestors, none have ever been able to defeat human kinds mightiest enemies.
And so it is until the present day. The powerful sourcerers, our Ancestors who could control magic beyond the imagination of the mortals eye, have been swept away as dust in the wind. Their knowledge, and amere fraction of their powers that still stands firmly in our lands, have been passed on to the Elders. The Elders are few, and they exist to lead with the King. But even though the full magic of the ancestors have been lost, the world is as safe as it could ever be.
But though there are few of them, we are still at the mercy of the Hunters.
That was until I came along. My name is Kida. I'm not a girl you would really look at twice. I live in a reasonable sized village, where we work hard to earn our keep. Our town is called Lins, in the Kingdom of Rayna. It is a peaceful Kingdom, we have a wise just King who rules, alongside with the Elders. And our village knew no such suffering other than the ache of a day's labour in the home or the fields.
Until a Hunter moved into the woods, right outside our village.
That was when my life, and the entire world, changed forever."
Review: This story is great. I haven't read it in the past few months so the details are a bit fuzzy but I remember it being awesome. I've read it a few times actually. Excuse grammar, spelling or any other odd mistakes, it is on Quizilla. But overall it's a great story. Fantasy, adventure and a bit of romance! I really wish the author had continued to write stories.
