Barbice

Background:

Gladice Simmons was happily married to George Simmons, they've been madly in love for three years. But Gladice has a secret that she mustn't let George know about. She's a detective. A few years ago, George arrived home just like he would in any other normal day, but this time he smelled of cologne and was abnormally hyperactive. She never thought anything of it, however, and continued about her business. Three weeks thereafter, George came home in the same state, and wouldn't go to bed for hours on end. A worried Gladice decided to search through his vehicle in search of an answer. Anything that could explain why George was acting like this. She opened the door, and found a box of small baggies with white powder inside. There was only one reason he would have these, and that was that he was smuggling drugs. She tried and failed to prosecute him for having possession of crack cocaine, the evidence had mysteriously disappeared never to be seen again. Presently, Gladice and her partner, Barbara, we're working on a case to try again in putting George behind bars once and for all.

Barbara MacDermott is a single woman whose been a detective for five years, since she was 19. She's always had the same partner by her side, Gladice Simmons, who has stuck by her through think and thin. Recently Gladice married a man named George, who has a reputation of dealing and smuggling drugs. They've been trying for years to catch him with possession of the aforementioned drugs. As of late they are working on a case to put George in prison for eternity. Barbara has been sent as 'the side chick', whereas her job is to become his accomplice and lover which should surely work.

Scene 1:

Setting: the Simmons household

Gladice: *waits expectantly for her husband to come home*

*door slams*

Gladice: "Where have you been?!"

George: "I was just out with the guys, Gladice. Now if you don't mind, I'm exhausted and would like to enjoy a nice hot shower." *begins to walk away*

Gladice: *pulls him back* "The guys my left asscheek! Where were you?"

George: *sighs heavily and begins to loosen his tie* "We went to the bar."

Gladice: "That's why your breath doesn't smell like alcohol?!"

George: "I used some mouthwash from Tim, alright?"

Gladice: *slaps George* "Liar! Where were you really?"

George: "You know what? I don't have to deal with this!" *tightens tie and grabs briefcase*

Gladice: *eyes widen in fear* "No, George! Where are you going?"

George: *grabs keys and opens door* "Out!"

*door slams*

Gladice: *sighs in defeat and slumps back onto couch where she sat just five minutes ago waiting for George to come home*

Scene 2:

Setting: fancy restaurant

George: *pulls into the parking lot in his Mercedes*

Barbara: *stands up from her place on the bench and grips her clutch tightly*

George: *exits car and walks up to Barbara*

Barbara: *grabs ahold of his tie and pulls him closer* "Where've you been, baby?" *looks up into his eyes and bats her eyelashes quickly*

George: *shudders* "Sorry I'm late, you know, the wife and all."

Barbara: "That's okay, I know how you can make it up to me." *places small kisses up his neck*

Gladice: *walks around the corner after having followed George to the place*

George: *kisses Barbara roughly*

Gladice: "Geoge!?" *feigns a hurt expression and walks up to him slowly*

Barbara: *pulls away quickly and gasps* "Who are you?"

George: "Gl-Gladice it's not what it looks like!"

Gladice: "Yes it is! You've been cheating on me with her!" *points to Barbara accusingly*

Barbara: *looks shocked*

Gladice: *slaps Barbara*

*the two women begin fighting*

George: *intervenes* "Ladies, ladies! We can work this out!"

Gladice: "What about the vows, George! Do they mean nothing to you? Do I mean nothing to you?"

George: "Gladice, I love you. You just don't... Please me anymore."

Gladice: *slaps George* "WE'RE MARRIED!"

George: "Barbara, you're attractive, but my heart lies on Gladice."

Gladice: *slaps George for about the 50th time* "If your heart was on me you wouldn't have cheated!"

Barbara: *rolls eyes* "You might love her, but do you want her?"

George: *hesitates*

Gladice: *waits expectantly* "Do you want me?"

George: *backs away* "What have I gotten myself into..."

Gladice: *grabs Barbara by the hair*

*another fight*

George: *intervenes again* "Come ON! We can't settle this with violence!"

Barbara: *smirks* "I know how we can settle it."

Gladice: *eyes widen* "WHAT?!"

George: *hesitates*

Barbara: *slams George against wall*

Gladice: *eyes dart around expecting someone to come around the corner*

Barbara: *pulls out a pair of handcuffs* "George, you are under arrest for the assault of a police officer and possession of crack cocaine."

*sirens are heard*

Gladice: "You've been caught, George."

George: *looks frightened* "B-but I thought..."

Barbara: "That's the job of a detective, Mr. Simmons."

*George is arrested*

Eye contact is made between Barbara and Gladice. They smile at each other and kiss. Camera zooms out, revealing New York City at 2:00 am, and George seated in the back of a police car.

*credits begin rolling as Back In Black by ACDC plays*

Hey guys! So this screen play was produced when I had been texting my friend. All I had to say was "wow i sound like a wife who's angry at her husband for coming home late" and BAM! I just start spouting out an entire screen play! She said she liked it so I decided to post it here.
