Heaven or Hell

Chapter 4

I groaned and pain surged through me. "Piers, Amanda." I heard Chris call out. I opened my eyes and saw a j'avo about to stab me. I grabbed its wrist and kept it back. Then it was stunned, "I'm good, captain." I elbowed the j'avo and rolled once I saw the laser and disappear and heard a shot. I got up and helped Piers up. "Careful, they got their sights locked onto us." We dashed to a chamber to the left and saw different enemies, "Careful, these enemies are different." I warned and killed the one by the stairs or so I thought. "So this is Neo-Umbrella's finest huh?" Piers scoffed. The one I killed turned into something squishy round white. I shot it multiple times and it got on its knees and started to pulsate and exploded. I groaned at the unexpected blow back, "So that's what it does." I got up and we went our way forward.

"HQ, we're closing in on Ada Wong." Chris said as he saw Ada at the top of the stairs slowly walking to the door. We walked forward and the stairs went up. "We need to get those stairs back down." I said and just as I stepped forward an alarm went off as if its saying that something dangerous is happening. We looked up and saw a bulkhead about to block the door Ada entered. "Well that's just great. What else could go wrong? How are we suppose to get that bulk head open?!" Piers yelled in frustration. "We'll figure something out, that's our job. The three of us have a mission to complete." Chris went ahead and we followed, "Copy that. Maybe we can blow it open." Chris took out his phone and searched for the way to the lever for the stairs. "I'll take care of the stairs, you do something about that gate." We reluctantly nodded. We went to wherever he led us and encountered more j'avos along the way. We approached a door, "I need you to open this for me, after that, get the bulkhead." We opened it and he entered, "Careful captain." I said before releasing it and going back to the set of stairs that could lead us to another way.

I saw a missile lined along the bulkhead and could point directly at it if given the right angle, "Hey, Piers! I think I found something to take care of that bulkhead." He nodded and helped me jump to the other side. He was about to jump but the platform we were on suddenly moved and went to the side of the wall separating us from each other. "Amanda you all right?" Piers asked through the radio. "Yeah, just keep going we'll meet up eventually." I proceeded forward and killed the j'avos that stood in my way. Piers grabbed on the bar to escape the Napad and I saw laser sights dancing around. "You got to be kidding me." I mumbled and searched for the snipers and eliminated them. Piers got to my area and helped me kill the pestering j'avos. "Get the crank." I pointed and he cranked it enough to point to the bulkhead. I worked on the wires and the missile started to hiss. I got tackled to the ground by Piers once I was done. "Now that's how you open a door." He said and got up. Just as the stairs were pulled down. We looked at the control room and saw Chris. I smirked, "Way to go captain." I got down and Piers followed.

Another alarming sound was heard and a platform was laid down with a jet fighter on it. "Are you kidding me?!" We ran our way around toward the stairs, "I think we overstayed our welcome." Chris said as he met up with us. We kept running and got to the other side. "Come on!" I shouted. I reached the door and Chris helped me open it. We entered and stopped at the sudden voice over the PA. "Can you feel it spreading through your body yet? I'm just giving you exactly what you gave me, Simmons. At first, you'll be afraid. But don't worry. You're just becoming the monster you always were. You and everyone else on the planet. You and your family may have shaped the world into what it is today, but starting tomorrow. It's all going to change." I frowned, "Not if we can help it." We entered a room and made a left. I operated the elevator and we rose. I sighed and checked my gun. "Tch, only a few left."

Then we stopped, "Ada, stop!" Chris yelled and dashed towards the door which she closed immediately. There was something weird though. Where did she announce that from? And how'd she change her clothes so fast? She crossed the other part and Chris smashed the lock open. "Damn. All that rage." I got in but a j'avo got in my way and the bulk head closed. I killed the j'avo and went inside only to find cover. The boys followed me and Piers threw a grenade. I got to where the j'avos were only to be tackled by the cockroach looking ones. I groaned as it gashed my upper thigh. I grabbed its head and wrapped my legs around its neck to flip our positions then snapped its neck. I rolled to the side to avoid the other one. I used my hand gun to shoot it repeatedly on the head. Chris and Piers took care of the rest as I proceeded.
