The Usual

When we pulled up to the house my phone started to ring. I answered the phone without looking at the screen.

"Hello." I said into the phone.

"Wassup ma." a familiar voice said.

"Umm, I'm good but I do have a name and who is this." I said with a little attitude while getting out of the car and walking yo the door.

"Chill beautiful, it's Davion." he said surrendering.

"Oh, hey, what's up." I said while unlocking the door and walking up to my bedroom.

"Uhh, me and the crew are going to This kickback on Friday and I wanted to know if you wanted to come." he said.

"Sure, just let me ask my daddy. since we just moved down here, he doesn't know any of yall." I said.

"Ok well call me back when you get your answer." said Davion.

"Ok bye." I said.

"Goodbye beautiful." he said and with that we hung up.

"Daddy!" I yelled. "Daddy!" I yelled again.

"He's still at work, Rai!" Uriah yelled to me.

"Okay!" I yelled back. I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. I was gonna make dinner but it's only 4:30 so I decided to just eat a snack. I grabbed some ice cream and pickles and walked into the living room to watch tv. I decided to watch Juice because it has Tupac in it. Two of my favorite celebrity crushes are Marilyn Monroe and Tupac. I also chose to watch Juice because my girl Janet Jackson is in it.

When I finished watching the movie my daddy had made it home by that time. I picked my trash up, threw it in the trash and went up stairs to my daddy's room.

"Knock, knock." I said while knocking on the door.

"Come on in, Babygirl." my dad said.

I walked in and sat on his bed. "Daddy, I have a question." I said.

"Anything." said my daddy.

"Well, my friends invited me to go to a kickback this Friday. I'll be home by whatever time you want me to." I said innocently.

"Okay, you can go." Was all he said.

"Really?" I questioned excitedly.

"Yes, girl. You better get out my room before I change my mind." he said seriously but was also laughing.

"Thank you, daddy." I squealed as I hugged him and left out of his room.

I went to my room and checked the time on my phone. It was 7:30 so I decided to take a shower. I walked into my bathroom, turned the water on and stripped out of my clothes. I got in the shower and immediately felt relaxed. I stayed in for about an hour, singing, before my dad finally kicked me out of my own bathroom. He said I was using too much water and he wanted to take a hot shower also. I turned the water off, stepped out of the bathtub, and grabbed my towel. After I dried off, I lotioned my body and put on my Marilyn Monroe pajamas and slippers and made my way downstairs. Since it was around 8:30, I started dinner. I decided to make chicken, rice, green beans, and cornbread. Cornbread does your body good. Everything was finished around 10:00.

"Uriah! Daddy! Dinner is ready." I yelled to my brother and my daddy. I made our plates, set them on the table, and no later then 10:15, we were finished eating. No grabbed everyone's plates and started to rinse them.

"No, Rai, I can wash them. You cooked dinner." Uriah said, taking the dish that I was washing out of my hand and finishing it.

"Thanks, Riah." I said as I walked out of the kitchen, up the stairs, and into my bedroom. I climbed in my bed, got under my cheetah print covers, and as soon my head hit the pillow, I fell fast asleep.
