"We let go not because we got tired. We let go because we accepted the fact that he/she will be happier with the person they truly love even though the pain of accepting it is killing us."
The newly opened bar was already packed when she arrived with her best friend, Gael. A seductive beat played was urging the sweaty bodies to sway in the smoky center stage while loud laughters are buzzing from all corners.
It was packed but not overcrowded. No wonder it was tagged as the new it place in the metro where the rich and the famous are frequently spotted.
Gael was behind her as he leads them to the stairs going to the second level lounge where only the rich if the richest are allowed.
It was a glass enclosed soundproofed room that is exclusively for the VIP guests with overlooking view of the crowded party space below.
She might be born rich but her family richness is far from the level of Gael and his friends.
All of Gael's friends are present but she immediately spotted Marco.
He was occupying the center couch with his arm candy glued to his side.
She smirked, the woman was not glued to his side, the bitch was all over him.
'Happy Birthday Bro!' Gael approached Karl and gave him a tight hug.
Gael was supposed to fly out of the country tonight for a business trip but he cancelled and opted to join his team on Monday morning.
When his mom asked why he is not coming with his team he joked that his juniors needed to put down their hair for few days so that they will be more productive on Monday.
'You are late Nieves!' Gideon, one of their friends approached Gael and gave him a quarter glass of gold whiskey.
'Finish it up fast and make up for your missed shots after getting here late. Again!'
Gael smilingly accepted the glass as he guide them to the far side of the lounge. It was the only available spot left and after taking their seats, he immediately finished the golden liquid in one swift gulp.
'We got caught in the Friday traffic and I had a hard time convincing my date to come with me.' Gael winked at me before gulping his second glass.
Since these men started working in their family owned businesses two years ago, Gael and his friends rarely have this opportunity to go out together and catch up unlike the old time when they were still in college.
The drinks are being poured to the empty glasses fast. His friends are already preparing the third shot and if Gael will not refuse, he will be drunk before the end of the night.
She snorted at him and started her own bottle of ladies beer.He and his friends laughed as they talked about their plans for the summer. They knew each other from young age and the group is receiving pressure from their respective families.
These men are not just normal party boys, they are also heirs of their family. Their seats are being prepared and they seriously work for their money too. Just having the same surname doesn't mean that the top seat will be automatically theirs, Gael doesn't talk about his work but she knew that like his friends, his competence is also being questioned by some people in their company.
She read Marco's recent interview from a celebrity magazine, he downplayed the question about some people questioning his competence as gossip but she know that the reason he is working hard is too prove them wrong.
