This one was prompted by dictionary.com's word of the day for the day that I wrote this.
loup-garou (noun)
a monster able to change appearance from human to wolf and back again [syn: werewolf]
Jane thought she did well at her job interview, but she's not sure because of the way the man kept looking at her. It was almost as if she had hair sprouting from her face and neck and ears and eyes. In fact, seeing the look on his face, you might've sworn the man had caught sight of other, more sickening growths on Jane's flesh.
She giggled as the flabbergasted look filled her mind's eye once more.
The laugh came out tough and forced. Like something had got caught in her throat.
She decided that it was about time that she get a drink. As she leaned over the nearest public - gasp- water fountain, pressing the side button firmly, she found it extremely hard to keep any of the water in her mouth, much less drink it.
She readjusted her grey, appropriate length skirt (which all of a sudden felt a little too short and too tight for her taste), and made her way to the nearest sanitation facilities
As soon as she set foot in the restroom, she caught a glimpse of herself on the mirror. She had to look twice to make sure that it was truly a reflection of her present appearance. She saw terrible terrible things that completely shattered all previous thought.
Clumps of grayish-brown hair poked out through every last pore on her face, puffed out her suit shirt, and jut out under her skirt. Sharp canine teeth, several inches in length, filled her enlarged mouth. And everything was bigger. It was a wonder really how her quickly expanding, lycanthrope body hadn't yet torn its way out of her seemingly tiny clothing.
She gasped, and stared at herself. She could hardly breathe. She knew it was her in the mirror, with her awkwardly low-placed hips, and her near flat chest, and her pony tail, but couldn't bring herself to quite grasp the idea.
She was scared beyond belief. Anyone watching would have most likely laughed at the undeniable resemblance between the expression taken on by her wolffish features and the thunderstruck interviewer from before.
