*Zote was meant to make an appearance, but was left out because, well, who even likes him*

"Queen Vespa was a brave and loyal leader. My Father resented me going to train under her due to the fact that he purposely walled them off from the kingdom."
"Why is that?"
"They did not wish to help him. All in all, it was not his kingdom from the beginning."
"I thought your father did not care about your existence..."
"He did not. Regardless, when he had the chance to speak to me he was rather controlling. But as known, he did not care, so neither did I."

As they walked through the desolate ruins of the Forgotten Crossroads, Hornet's words became an eventual blur. Lace wondered why her focus was dying, she felt her pace slowing until she stopped. Hornet had kept going, but paused when she noticed Lace was no longer following. The realization came to her; she knew why she stopped. Somehow, as important as the truth was, it flew straight over her head when she was told. Maybe it was from the moment, she was filled with such emotion from the Weaver the fact hadn't stayed in her mind.
"Lace?" Hornet's concerned tone woke her, Lace's eyes were widened as she turned to Hornet. She then suddenly pointed at Hornet, bringing a surprised motion.
"Y-you're the Princess of Hallownest!" Lace's shout startled Hornet, Hornet then looked around as if someone had just told her.
"Uhm... yes, I told you and you started referring to me as Princess..." Hornet turned back to Lace with confusion. Lace quickly walked up to Hornet and stared at her. Lace crouched slightly and extended her arms out.
"You are the Princess of Hallownest!" She repeated. Hornet delicately placed a hand on top of Lace's hat.
"Yeah... what about it?" Hornet appeared to be uncomfortable.
"And I am, what—I am—" Lace stopped herself. She wanted to tell Hornet her feelings, but found that she could not. She already knew that Hornet felt close feelings for her back, considering she was not bothered by their hand holding or soft gestures. She had no idea if they considered each other to be in a courtship. She was astounded by the fact that, if they did consider each other to be in that way, she was dating someone of royal blood. Usually it was the old folklores told to her by a child of those with royal blood marrying, regardless if the significant other was found to not have it; they were usually uncovered to have some. Yet, here Lace and Hornet stood. Two completely different stories that somehow managed to get intertwined. Lace felt a hand on her shoulder, she slowly stood up in response.
"You are phenomenal." Hornet smiled, her eyes happily closed.

"Who knows what's underneath that surface. It may appear clear and serene, but as you go deeper the light ceases. Who knows how many bugs, unable to swim, had submerged themselves on accident and have not returned." Hornet stared darkly into the crystal laps. Lace sat uncomfortably, she started quickly petting the side of Hornet's head.
"Yeah, um... point taken."

Lace knew that now she would not have to worry about waking Hornet if nightmares took over her mind when she slept. Everything was different now. She would not have to worry about confrontation, or question. She still wondered what Hornet's nightmares entailed, what they would entail now.
