A loud, ear-splitting screech echoed in the forest as a red-haired male thrusted his sword in the beast-like creature's chest, stopping its heart from beating.
The red-head hopped off the beast as its body slowly dissolved into particles, a bag of loot replacing the body of the dead beast.
"This should be enough for me to hire party members." The red-head mumbled, closing his pouch as he placed his sword on the side of his waist.
He was about to walk back to town when he heard the bushes behind him rustle, too loud for the wind to make. 'Another one?!' The warrior thought as he gripped the handle of his sword. He was about to send fireballs towards thr bush when a person emerged from it.
The person was a blue-haired woman wearing an outfit that looks similar to a mage's. Huge witch hat, robe, the likes. The redhead composed himself as he returned from a fighting stance to his normal stance.
"Are you a player?" The redhead asked, eyeing the female. The latter cocked her head in confusion as she pinched her cheeks. "Do I look like a NPC to you?"
The redhead was surprised by the sassy comeback of the female but laughed it off. "You seem new here, I'm Alec."
"The name's Funneh and yes, I am new here. Can you please tell me where the town is? I'm kind of lost." Alec chuckled at Funneh's statement as he gave her a smile.
"Sure. I was about to head there, anyways." Funneh's face lit up as she jogged towards Alec and the two began knowing each other.

After the encounter in the forest, Alec invited Funneh to his team to which the latter immediately agreed. She quoted, "It's much more fun to play online games with friends, after all". Funneh trained with Alec as they complete dungeons and events together. The two were having too much fun, they didn't realized they caught the attention of all players and was dubbed 'The Sword and Staff' Duo.
"Alec, wait up!" Funneh yelled. She was running up the hill, her eyes focused on the redhead's back. Her outfit has changed too when they first met. Instead of the default mage outfit, she's now wearing a blue sleeved-dress that goes all the way down to her blue sandals, a blue cape with golden lining that flies whenever the wind hits it, and a blue scarf with golden lining.
Alec chuckled as he turned around, back-walking. "You're still as slow as ever Funneh!" Alec also has his outfit changed. Instead of the [Common] Red Knight Outfit he wore when they first met, he was now wearing a one-of-a-kind red knight outfit that he got at a hidden dungeon.
"Well, it's your fault for having an [Agility] of Twenty!" The blue-haired girl retorted, huffing.
"Says the person who has an [Agility] of Five!" Alec yelled to which Funneh groaned at.
It took them a few more minutes to reach the top and when they did, the sun was already setting at the horizon. Funneh placed her hands on her knees, catching her breath while Alec watched the ocean reflect the orange-colored sky.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Alec absent-mindedly asked, his red orbs reflecting the orange sunlight. Funneh cross-sat on the grass, a smile plastered on her face.
"Yep. I guess the hike is worth it." Funneh replied. The redhead turned around to face the bluehead with a serious expression.
"Funneh...I wanted to ask you something." Alec exclaimed as he felt his face starting to heat up. Funneh, being the oblivious dork that she was, wondered why Alec looked so serious.
They were staring at each other for a good ten minutes when a message popped in the mage's notification box. She opened her tab and felt all the blood in her body rush on her face as she read the message.
'Will you go out with me?'
It was sent by the one and only Alec. Funneh stuttered, surprised and flustered by the message.
"So, what's your reply?" Alec inquired, his mind becoming more unsettled the longer Funneh remained silent.
At last, Funneh managed to regain her composure as she typed her reply. And the message that appeared in Alec's notification box made the guy smile from ear to ear.
'Yes'
Out of happiness, Alec hugged Funneh to which the latter reciprocated. They remained there until the sun fully set.
By the time they walked down to town, their hands are intertwined under the starry night sky.
