Goodbyes are an interesting thing.
sometimes they are frivolous
sometimes they are earnest
they are equally planned and unplanned
the conclusion of a meeting with an old friend you haven't seen
a breakup with 'the one' that tears you at the seams
saying goodbye to a loved one that you'll see the next day
only for them ascend in the night and pass away
it is idiomatic that all closed doors present a new way
but what about the opportunities that you missed out on
so you will never 'seize the day'
Goodbyes exist in order to mark the end of an era
oftentimes they come prematurely and were said in error
other times they are intent and mean the most
for goodbyes are a construct that exist only in the mind
they constitute toward the larger idea that is "Time"
much like water, they flow, either naturally or even bold
thus I must pass on to seize my day
I bid thee till the morrow. Goodbye
