2nd quarter
The other team was already winning and we lost hope. I quietly cheered for the other team and yeah, you can call me a traitor. I mean we need good sportmanship right?
Number 24 was always incourt all through out the second quarter. He is good at basketball, I thought to myself as I watch his moves. He sometimes aims for the three point shot but is better at handling and defending. He had already crossed over two boys from our team.
I just had dreamy eyes attached to his while he runs back and forth in the stadium and to my surprise..
we locked eye contact.
His lips was curved into a smile and also his eyes. His cheeks were lifted up as he stared passionately— "why are your cheeks so red." Selka asked. I broke eye contact and turned to her. "Are they really?" I worriedly asked as I held my cheeks to cover them. This is embarrassing. "Uh— it's probably just because of the heat that are surrounding us-.. It's hot in here." I covered up. Selka's lips then formed a grin and whispered something to Halvey. I just shrugged it off.
Did he really just notice me? Did he really just locked eye contact with mine and smiled? Maybe I was staring at him for too long that he noticed.
I asked several questions in my head that I didn't even notice that 2nd quarter was already finished. The loud buzzer was heard again filling up my earbuds. After it stopped, We became bored because we were losing hope.
21-39
We all looked at each other. "Are you guys bored?" Halvey lazily questioned. "You were right, he was only handsome from afar." Both Selka and I smiled at each other while looking at Halvey's wasted face. "what?? It is true, I'm stating a fact." She then playfully crossed her arms. "Woah calm down there Halvene." Selka said in concern. "Why don't we just play volleyball outside? I just saw a ball somewhere in here." Halvey suggested and Selka and I both agreed.
The three of us headed out of the gymnasium and walked through some tree shades. "This place seems fine." I said as I close my eyes to hear the wind howling as cold breeze touches. "Okay then, let's play!"
"woah woah! Halvey recieve!"
"You never told me you can spike!"
"Why do you always miss?"
"keep your arms forward Mina!"
"There! you're doing great!"
We played for a good 15 minutes until I eventually became tired and was catching some air. I sat on the path walk while Halvey and Selka continued playing. "Are you guys not tired yet?!" I whined as they both stared at me and laughed. "oh baby Mina, you're just not that athletic..." Selka said sarcastically. "oh yeah? but atleast I am musically inclined." I jokingly told them and blew a raspberry.
