Better than XP

It was a pretty slow day at the Hinobi store and Phil hadn't seemed like there was anything special going around. Miko was at the cash register helping out the same old lady for the fifth time this month. While Five was carrying in a new shipment of Limited addition sneakers.

"Miko, after this you want to go on patrol" Five asked looking over the box he was carrying to see his partners response

She dashed over to her partner and picked him up. "You're a genius. I was dieing of bored. This is why we're partners, you get me"

"Need..... To breath" Five manage to squeeze out. It turns out trying to hold something without being able to breath is a lot harder than it sounds

"OH! Sorry" she set him down looking away slightly embarrassed for overreacting again

"It's cool why don't you go get the van while I finish with this. See you in ten?" Five moved the box so he was holding it in one arm and held out his fist

"Roger that" Miko exclaimed with her usual bright smile before fist bumping him and started for the door

"Wow! She has a pretty smile" Five thought stuck in a daze. "Wait what" He shook his head and started for the storage room. Once he got there he set the box down and wiped the sweat from his brow. "OK, now that I'm done here I should probably go meet with Miko so we can go on that date"

Five started for the door but before he could open it he realized what he said, "W-what did I just say" he thought blushing furiously, "No I-i don't think of Miko in that way we're just friends" He thought trying to calm his raging heart beat. After about ten minutes he calmed down.

After he got outside he noticed a upset Miko waiting on top the hood of the van, "where were you. I've been waiting for twenty minutes! Do you know how much XP we could have gotten in that time?!" She looked upset and as much as he felt guilty for making her wait he still thought she looked cute when she was angry

"Yeah sorry I ran into Mitch and he was calling us noobs again" It was a clever lie. Mitch did that all the time he probably made fun of them more times then they had XP. But Miko knew that he was lying but decided to just go with it

"Really, again! Man he doesn't know when to quit" Miko was going to get what really happened out of him later but right now she was to bored to care. "Besides you can't hide anything from your Miko"

After they got into the van and Five was more focused on driving then Miko's quietness she was able to freely blush, "W-wait did I really just say that? There's no way. I don't like Five"

She looked over at him for any indication that she may like him. They where currently at a stoplight so Five was able look at Miko freely without worry. He flashed her a smile before turning back to the road. Miko on the other hand felt like she was struck by lightning. "I've just meant the hardest boss in the world!!! I'm in love with Five"

After cruising around town for awhile they decided to stop at a burger joint before looking for any glitches. Miko wasn't sure what to do in this situation, after just finding out she was in love with her partner how was she supposed to act normal? "What am I supposed to do?! no one ever told me what to do when this happens I can't just do a combo and bam. Victory." Miko slammed her head on the table in frustration

"Hey are you ok Miko" Five asked worry evident in his voice. This made Miko not want to lift her head up even more because of the blush that his kindness caused

"I'm fine just bored" a pixelated explosion was heard in the distance and the two glitch tech agents were already out of there seats and in the van

"Well looks like we found some fun" Five said raising his fist excitedly as they drove down the street towards there destination

It seemed that Mitch's team was fighting another boss and where failing badly. It was a character from the new karate game that was released last week. It was the final boss, The wise turtle. And it was safe to say that Mitch was not good at this game. "Well partner you want to show him how to kick some butt" Miko said activating her outfit

"You know it" Five answered activating his outfit next

"Yeah 500,000 XP for the boss. How cool are we" Miko exclaimed jumping around excitedly basking in all the XP the duo got and the bragging rights that came with it.

"Yep but I think that Mitch's face was all the reward I needed" Five said half jokingly. When Mitch figured out he was rescued by the noobs, he was furious.

"Lies! There's no better reward then XP" Miko said challenging his statement

"There's definitely a better reward than XP" He said running on the adrenaline from the fight

"Oh really. And what pray tell is it?" She asked expecting him to cave and not come up with anything. Yeah, that was wrong.

"Well for starters a kiss would be much better"

They were both silent. Contemplating the weight of Fives words and while the man in question wanted nothing more than to sink into the floor. Miko had a question floating in her mind.

"So you would rather have a kiss then XP" Miko asked wondering if he meant specifically a kiss from her

Five had to chose his words carefully, "Y-yes. I would rather have you kiss me then XP" If Five meant to tell her he wanted to kiss Miko specifically he was smooth about it. But that wasn't that case

Miko was having a mental breakdown in her head, "I just got hit with a special move. What am I suppose to do here" after weighing her options carefully she finally came to a decision

In a second Miko was right below Five and stood on her toes to kiss him but all it accomplished was kissing his jawline. She wasn't happy about that, "why are you so freaking tall" she wined. Realizing her plan was a disaster and wanted to shrink into nothing

While Miko was thinking about how much will power it would take to disappear, Five grabbed her chin and made her face him. "Well if you wanted a kiss all you had to do was ask" and the next thing she knew his lips were on hers

Her eyes widened in shock before slowly closing. Wrapping her arms around his neck to deepen the kiss as much as possible. After a full minute of kissing the two separated and placed their foreheads together, "I could get used to that" she said regaining her breath

"Whatever you say partner"
