Ice Fog's Birthday

Happy 16th Birthday, Isaac!

The date was April 13th, 2020. It was quite a breezy morning. But the Carter family didn't mind one bit. Dillon Carter [Diamond Dust] was already up and about to wake up his younger brother Isaac [Ice Fog]. Dillon opened the door to his brother's room. He saw that Isaac was still sleeping and had the covers really close to him, like he was cold. Dillon gently shook him, waking him up.

Diamond Dust: Good morning, little brother.

Ice Fog: *yawns* Morning.

Diamond Dust: Happy 16th birthday, Isaac.

Ice Fog: Thanks. But we can't go out and celebrate like we did last year because of the coronavirus.

Diamond Dust: Yeah. This stinks. But on a good note, there's no school.

Ice Fog: I wish Yukino [Snow] was here.

Diamond Dust: Maybe you can try texting her.

Ice Fog: You know what? I think I'll do that.

He got out of bed and got himself dressed. Dillon left his room to go see if breakfast was done. While Isaac was getting dressed, his cell phone started ringing. Isaac picked it up.

Ice Fog: Hello?

Snow: Hi, little snowflake!

Ice Fog: Oh, hey, Yuki.

Snow: Happy birthday.

Ice Fog: Thank you. I'm stuck here at home because of the virus.

Snow: Don't worry. We can bring the party here. Come to your window.

Isaac went to the window and looked down. Yukino was on the ground, along with her little sister Shiori [Powder].

Ice Fog: What are you doing down there?

Snow: You're not celebrating your birthday without me and Shiori.

Powder: Yuki...it...cold.

Snow: Yeah, it's really windy. Let's go inside.

Isaac went downstairs and met his brother Dillon and his parents. The family then heard the door bell.

Mr. Carter: Who could that be?

Ice Fog: I got it, Dad.

Isaac answered the door.

Diamond Dust: Well, look who it is! It's Isaac's girlfriend and her sister.

Snow: Hello to you too, Dillon.

Shiori shyly waved hello to Mr. and Mrs. Carter.

Mrs. Carter: Come on in, dears.

The 2 girls went inside.

Mr. Carter: (to Snow) You must be Isaac's girlfriend.

Snow: Oh, yes. I'm Yukino Coleman. And this is my little sister Shiori.

Mrs. Carter: How old are you, Yukino?

Snow: I'm 18, m'am. And Shiori is 17.

Mrs. Carter: Our little boy is 16 today. And Dillon is 20.

Mr. Carter: It's a wonder how Dillon doesn't have a girlfriend yet.

Diamond Dust: I'm...actually seeing someone.

Mrs. Carter: You are? What's her name? Is she pretty?

Diamond Dust: She's very pretty. Her name is Hitomi Furukawa [Snow Miku 2018]. And she's like 4 years older than me. But that's okay. Most of the Mikus are older than most of the Lens. Even Yuurei [Demons And The Dead] is older than Mr. Hoshino [Shigure].

Ice Fog: You mean Snow Miku 2018? I thought you hated her because she was annoying?

Diamond Dust: Well, she does speak Japanese, that's true. But we have our differences.

Ice Fog: Have you 2 gone on a date yet?

Diamond Dust: ...No.

Snow: It's okay, Dillon. You'll have your chance.

Mr. Carter: I assume you 2 girls would like some cake and ice cream?

Powder: I...would...like...some.

Snow: Me too! Cake and ice cream sound delicious.

And so, the Carter family and the Coleman girls enjoyed some cake and ice cream.

Snow: Wow, Mrs. Carter, this cake is delicious.

Mrs. Carter: Thank you, Yukino. It's Isaac's favorite. Mint-chocolate chip ice cream cake.

Ice Fog: We have this cake every year on my birthday. And it never gets old.

Mr. Carter: I hope you asked your parents if you could hang out with Dillon and Isaac.

Powder: Yes...we...did.

Mrs. Carter: That's good. And don't worry, girls. There's no coronavirus here in this house.

Snow: I don't want to die because of the virus.

Powder: Me...neither.

Ice Fog: I don't think you've seen the news, Yukino. But we lost another Miku due to the virus. You know Heidi Folsom [High Fever]?

Snow: I've heard of her. But I haven't really seen her in person. When did she die?

Diamond Dust: Last Thursday. And she was only 13 years old. This proves that ANYONE can have the virus.

Powder: That's...sad.

Ice Fog: It is. Let's just hope no one else in Negi Root City dies.

Diamond Dust: Yeah. Ciel DuBlois is still depressed after Heidi passed away.

Powder: Who's...Ciel?

Snow: Oh, he's a pretty popular Len module in Negi Root City. We'll meet him someday. Hopefully before we die from the coronavirus or something.

The Carter family and the Coleman girls finished their cake and ice cream. Isaac and Dillon said goodbye to Shiori and Yukino. This was the best birthday of Isaac's life.
