"Azar," Vulture called in search for the redhead, "Where are you? Azar!"

Vulture's cinnamon brown gaze landed on a speck of red upon the forest in front of her. Vulture's muscles strained and bundled up as she threw one leg in front of the other, rushing her forward. Trees turned into green-brown blurs around her and her pulse quickened. Nothing mattered now. Nothing mattered besides getting to Azar. The forest began to thin out; a clearing opened in the middle of it. Azar's small hunched down body caused Vulture to skid to a halt.

Azar was staring at a small pond in front of her. Vulture cautiously approached, making her footsteps silent as she walked towards her friend. Azar's emerald green eyes didn't flicker up as Vulture stood over her. Azar's knuckles were white as she kneaded at the grass below her. Vulture glanced at her friend's reflection; Azar's face looked worn and scratches covered her freckle riddled tanned face.

"Azar, what's wrong?" Vulture whispered softly.

"Stop coming back to me. Go live your own life." Azar crutched the grass she was fidgeting with.

"I...I beg your pardon? What was that?" Vulture asked, tilting her head.

"Don't give me that. You heard me! Go away before someone gets hurt." Azar growled out.

"I just wanted to check on you. You've been distant lately. I care about you!" Vulture's voice was firm.

"Do you? You approach me like I'm a wild animal. You're afraid, aren't you?" Azar taunted.

Vulture finched. "What's wrong with you today, Azar? I'm not afraid of you. You know that!"

"Oh, so now we're blaming me? You can't blame me for how I'm feeling. You can only blame yourself."

"What? What did I do?" Vulture furrowed her brown eyebrows.

"When I needed you the most, what did you do? You ran away with Jasmine! You were too afraid to do anything! You've always been a coward! Not only that but wherever you go, death follows! My best friend died because of you! You sure do live up to your name, Vulture." Azar narrowed her eyes and her face flushed with anger.

Tears streamed down from Vulture's eyes. "Azar, I....I'm sorry. I had no idea..."

"Of course you didn't. Now, get out before I hurt you." Azar spoke in a low tone.

"I can't leave until I know you're going to be safe. I still care."

"I'm leaving Cheveyo. Don't even think about following." Azar snapped.

"I hope you find peace where you're going, Azar. I'll miss you." Vulture turned around, walking away from her best friend.

A/N: This isn't the best, but I still like it. It's about my original characters. I plan to write a book about them.
