"There ye go, Fleetwing!" said a tall brunette girl as she caressed the beautiful taloons of the hippogriff she is currently feeding. She watched it feed, eyes sparkling as if what's in front of her is the most precious thing in the world. While she did this, a huge hairy man's shadow towered over her which made her head tilt upwards then a bright beam came across her face seeing who it was.

"Hagrid!"

"She'll grow fatter if ye feed 'er this much everyday, lass." said Hagrid returning the same wide smile to her. "But she likes ye a whole lot, Heather!" Hagrid continued then opened his arms wide, looking at all the other hippogriffs. "They all do!"

"I love them lot, Hagrid." Heather said genuinely smiling at Hagrid as she walks to another hippogriff with a bucket of insects. Hagrid watched her. She was always so kind to them. She visited them everyday just to tend to them. Hagrid, lost in thought, was already tearing up. Going back to his senses, he looked towards the castle then to his pocket watch. His eyes widened in panick.

"Heather!" Hagrid shouted making Heather jump in shock. "It's half-pass noon! Ye've to get ready fer yer Charms, lass!"

"Charms, aye." Heather said running to Hagrid hugging him then headed straight to the castle.

There were only a few students in the Gryffindor common room as classes were to start in thirty minutes. Fred and George, the famous Weasley twins, were in there trying out explosive gums on Seamus Finnigan when Heather ran pass them in hurry. Although she glanced at them for a while. One of the twins, Fred Weasley glanced at her too. They had eye contact for a second which sometimes happened to both of them although they just ignored it. They never talked anyways.

Going up the dormitory, she got her The Standard Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk, her wand, and some ink. She then made her way down when a loud BOOM was heard at the common room making her realize she forgot something. Slightly annoyed, she turned to go back up when she bumped someone.

"Sorry!" Heather apologized.

"Careful, Heather!" said the slightly annoyed short haired brunette who was smaller than Heather was but fiercer. Seeing the girl's reaction Heather quickly explained "I forgot me quills, Tara."

"Is that so?" Tara said calmly her irritated face wiped by a poker one. She then grabbed something in her bag and got a quill then handed it to Heather. "Here you go! You can borrow it a while. We're classmates anyways."

"Em, thanks so much then." Heather smiled grabbing the quill. They both went down the stairs then saw Seamus running back and forth the common room shouting "Hot! Hot! Hot! Need Water!" again and again, while at the end of the corner were the twins, who were laughing their hearts out.

"Guys, I think that's quite mean." Tara said calmly to the twins as both were still laughing like mad.

"Why Taranise Urquhart? Can't have a good laugh?" George teased.

"Fine. I'm just saying." Tara said showing her palm to them. "I'm not the one looking like an all crunched up pickle laughing at the corner of the room." Tara hissed silencing Fred and George, but as Heather and Tara walked out of the common room the twins started giggling again.

"Ye told 'em, lass." Heather whispered as they walked along the hallway.

"Of course! We're in fifth year. Let's try to act our age."

Charms. It was Heather's favorite class (next to Care of Magical Creatures of course). She would always practice what she's learned and read different books about it. This is why she is levels more knowledgable than her batchmates on the subject making Ravenclaws eye her a lot in class. She always dreaded such attention especially times when Professor Flitwick calls her to answer when no one else does. She just hated that.

"Good morning, everyone!" greeted Professor Flitwick who was already standing on his chair. "Today, we will be practicing the Disarming charm!" He said beaming brightly while some were not in the mood for class at all. "We will go outside and practice in pairs."

"Great." Heather whispered sarcastically to herself. She always dreaded pairs. She doesn't have much friends really. Group mates maybe if you call them friends. It was always hard for her to find a partner. Sometimes she steps up and asks someone, but most times she goes on her own or she becomes the teacher's partner which is probably why she intimidates most people. But this time, she decided to ask someone from Ravenclaw who has been her partner in potions once and thought was really good with it.

"Hey, em, Lucy? Lucy Knox, aye?" Heather asked an average height girl with medium length ash brown hair. "Aye, course Hea--ther?" Lucy asked quite awkwardly as Heather nodded.

Charms ended very quickly for Heather. She and Lucy were quite alright as partners. When Lucy fell, Heather would teach defense tactics to her. So that she would not fall behind class.

Heather waved Lucy goodbye as they went their separate ways after class. Heather walked happily thinking her day had gone quite well when a black figure appeared in front of her.

"Professor Snape!" Heather said startled at his sudden appearance.

"Miss Quigg" Snape said stoicly then continued "You did not attend potions this morning."

"Aye." She weakly said looking down. She just didn't like potions at all. She had a hard time memorizing ingredients to what potions, and the numbers just confuses her. Plus the Professor does not help her at all. She even scolded her before for being "mentally challenged" filling up her anger meter.

"This is the third time this month, Miss Quigg. I made sure your parents know about your lack of enthusiasm at potions." Snape said eyeing Heather. "Dungeons. Detention. Ten points from Gryffindor." He commanded as Heather grew more embarassed and mindlessly followed him. But Heather isn't completely helpless. She thought how she could have a wee bit of fun.
