My head lies on something freezing as my senses awaken. I hear boots crunching on gravel. The noise grows louder and louder. I stretch my shoulders but something is holding me. As my eyes adjust to the harsh darkness I realise it's a rope of sorts. A cold shiver races down my back. I roll onto my side coughing. A few drops of blood lay sprayed onto the concrete floor. BAM! The door crashes open.
"Morning Sweetie, looks like that stuff lasted a bit longer then I thought." A middle aged man comments as he chew's on tobacco.
The ridges in my forehead rise as I attempt to make sense of this mess. The man in a torn checked shirt limps over. He places a bowl of water and a plate of toast near me. A bowl? "Oh and don't try anything smart now, will you?" He slurs as an afterthought.
Yeah like what accidentally drown myself whilst trying to drink water out of the bowl? A sharp pain stems from the nape of my neck. I rub it gently. My hand has blood on it all of a sudden. What the hell is happening? A throbbing headache strengthens. My head feels like someone is repeatedly knocking on it. I
A stream of bright sunlight filters in through a small hole in the curtain. I edge over towards the window. I quickly glance behind me to check that I'm alone. I carefully pull the crimson curtain back a little and peer through the dirty sheet of glass. As my eyes start to adapt to the light I make out a small bungalow opposite. There's a rusty old windmill further up, behind it. That's peculiar.
"What made you think bringing her here was a good idea?" A woman with a slicked back, golden pony tail asks.
"I..I..guess it wasn't." The man stutters and rubs the back of his head uncertainly.
She licks her lips and seductively bites down on her lower lip."Now we have to get rid of her, nice work Darrel."
