you were once young and bold
Laughing till you can't see
Now you're black lung and cold
The day came to see you have to flee
Came to see you once a week
Your smile can turn dirt to gold
Seeing you walk made me happy; not bleak
Now the youth has gone away turning you into old
Watching the days go by but have no light
In the room watching colors from your eyes fade to grey
You staring in my eyes with a lot of fright
Me saying, "you'll forever be in my heart is a cliche"
The memories of us will never fall apart
Now since you are above me, you have a new fresh start
- Rest in peace Grandma. Love, your grandson
