In the Inter High game the next day, Seijoh won by a close game with Karasuno, and after battling out again, they managed to proceed to the next day.

You stood outside the hall again, awaiting someone you had been eyeing the whole game with a small pack of cookies that you had just baked over the weekend. Since there were only 3 of you at home and your father wasn't much of a sweet tooth, you decided to wrap it up nicely and give it to the ace.

You didn't hesitate to go inside and meet him. He was with Oikawa at the end of the hall, talking about how they managed to stop the final move.

"Iwaizumi-san?"

He jumped a little in surprise. "(L/n)-san, h-hi! What are you doing here?"

"You played amazingly," you said, as you handed your gift, "This is for you."

"What? This is too much, I can't possibly-"

Oikawa interrupted, "If you don't want it, I'll take it Iwa-chan~!"

He immediately grabbed it and pulled it closer to his chest. "Back off, Shittykawa! This is mine! Go get your own!"

"Tch, so rude~!"

You laughed at the two before reaching for one extra cookie in a crappy bag, not at all beautifully packaged like you had done for Iwaizumi. "Here's an extra cookie, you can have it," you calmly told Oikawa.

"Wow, you are too nice~! Alright then I need to go meet my fans. Such a shame you're not one of them, (l/n)-chan," he said flirtatiously, which caused Iwaizumi to pop a vein to his response.

Oikawa grew nervous from the sight of his friend, "Ahh, I'm just kidding, sorry!" Like that, he ran away.

You laughed again before turning to Iwaizumi, who looked somewhat...lost.

"Are you okay?" you asked.

He looked down at your cookies. "Why are you doing this? Giving me gifts? Oikawa is the better player and um, he's more good looking too."

"I was right," you said, "You really do think too lowly of yourself."

He gulped.

You continued, "Well, I guess Oikawa Tooru is an amazing player. He has incredible skill in setting and can bring out 100% of his spikers' capacity. But, my father always told me, a strong volleyball team is the team where all six of them are strong."

Iwaizumi's eyes widened at your statement. That was a line he used to say too.

"You can't win based off the merits of one player, and you, Iwaizumi-san, just so happen to be one of those strong six."

He looked somewhat in awe.

"As for looks, meh, Oikawa's good looking, sure, but he's a bit too pretty for my taste."

"Too pretty?" he asked, somewhat curiously.

"Mmhm," you nodded, "To be honest, I find you a lot more attractive than Oikawa-san."

And that's when he lost it. He could feel his heartbeat racing, blood running through his veins and for a moment his mind went completely blank. Did she, this beautiful girl, really just say that?

"Are you okay? You look like you're running a fever," you said, noticing just how red he looked.

You reached out your hand to touch his face, to check his temperature, but that only made him redder. The touch of skin, your hand on his face felt like electricity, and he was burning.

"I-I-I'm fine!" he said, panicked.

After noticing the time, you gave a small sigh. "Hey, I've gotta get going now. I need to pick up my idiot brother from his class. Anyway, good luck tomorrow! I'll see you around."

It was the second time you left him frozen like that.
