My feet slip outwards on the dry autumn leaves as I round the corner, the cold evening air shocking my throat and lungs as I inhale deeper, faster. With each footfall, a jarring pain shoots ankle to knee as I have been running for my life to escape from those black hooded masked monsters that keep on bothering me.
Behind me, I could hear their jeering waves of laughter, enough to send shivers down to my spine.
I can't take this anymore
Just as I bolted along the dark forest, luck was not on my side when I tripped over a rock, earning me a painful fall on the ground. My knees weakened to even get up. My lungs could not take all the adrenaline as I panted to catch my breath.
Hearing the loud rustling of the dry autumn leaves and the hysterical laughter, it told me that they were already close enough to get me. I quickly turned to look.
Yet my life flashed before my eyes when I saw them with their razor-sharp claws as they charged towards me. I could see my shocked reflection on the surface of the claw aimed at me, as the harsh wind touched my face. Beads of sweat trickled down my temples. My breath hitched upon knowing what will come out of me so I shut my eyes, ready to accept my fate.
Someone, please...
Help.. me...
Just then, a bright glow of light appeared out of nowhere. And all I could hear were those monsters hideous scream as they were engulfed by the light.
I slowly opened my eyes only to discover myself at an unfamiliar place. There was no trace of those monsters anymore. The place had a weird yet nostalgic feeling as I tried to comprehend where am I. Mists filled the deep mauvish landscape which got me a bit gloomy.. and I did not know why.
Just when I turned around, I saw two decent looking men.
They were standing in front of me with full dignity. The one at my right wore an all-white attire while the one at my left wore all black. Yet, they were both reaching out their hands to me, as if they were making me choose.
Just who are they? Did the bright glow of light came from them?
Although I knew that their faces were still a blur, but why do I feel like I know them? Like they were waiting for me? Like I feel warm and.. loved? Why do I felt like I was having a hard time, a hard time choosing a.. stranger? I'm so confused. Without thinking, I reached out to my hand...
"(Y/N)!!!!"
I immediately shot up straight with wide eyes when I heard loud peals of laughter around me. Now that I realize that I was still in Ms. Lee's subject.
Great. My favorite... math.
"Looks like someone's been dreaming in my class... care to tell me?"
Ms. Lee crossed her arms as she gave me an irritated smile.
I was still dumbfounded at the moment and managed to look at my best friend, Chaeyoung since she was mouthing something to me. I read her lips and it says 'your drool is all over your face' and so I wiped my lips which she gave me a thumbs up then everyone laughed. Again.
"Well?" Ms. Lee added.
Just then Chaeyoung raised her hand.
"Ms. Lee, I'm afraid (y/n) did not have much sleep last night since she told me that she spends the whole night doing our quantitative research which is a requirement in your subject, right?"Chaeyong told Ms. Lee with a pinch of aegyo.
"Is this true, (y/n)?"
I looked at Chaeyoung with wide eyes then she winked.
"Y-yes ma'am!"
