Chapter 4 - Cygnus

Natsu yawned softly , he was still curled up on Gray's chest. Gray was massaging his back which felt amazing. They'd just had lunch so they were letting their food settle before Hikari started training Gray. The alpha had expressed that he wanted to get stronger to protect Natsu and their baby so she agreed to train him. He rubbed Natsu's stomach gently. Natsu purred happily and kisses Gray's jaw. He was so much happier now that he had Gray and Happy with him. The blue exceed was taking a nap on Natsu's legs. Hikari appeared startling Happy and Natsu. Gray wasn't fazed as he was used to Juvia popping up right behind him and scaring the living daylights out of him. He chuckled softly as he patted Natsu's hair to calm him down. The pinkette pouted. "Hikari no more popping up like thaaat. I think I just had a heart attack..." he whined , to which Happy agreed. Hikari just giggled floating in the air. "So Gray are you ready for your training?" She asked. Gray grinned. "Hell yeah~" they all went outside , Natsu Sat on a blanket playing a video game lacrima. Hikari has cast a very strong protective shield spell around him so he was safe. Happy had gone down to the river to fish. Gray stood a few metres away from Hikari. "Okay Gray , I want you to close your eyes and concentrate your magic power. Feel the cold around you." The dragon spirit instructed. Gray closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He relaxed his body and imagine the cold surrounding him. Even though it was a sunny day there was always cold somewhere. He drew cold air from the snow covered mountains tops. Icy wind started to blow his hair and clothes. (Natsu had yelled at him twice that day already for stripping) Natsu looked up from his video game lacrima to watch the scene. Gray was enveloped in a veil of cold air and ice. His hair blew wildly and his clothes rippled with the wind. "Good~ now say , ice Dragon slayer , Glacier rune." She stated. "Ice Dragon slayer , Glacier Rune!" He yelled. Glowing blue runes appeared in the sky before raining down a tyranny of ice , snow and hail. Gray stared at the freezing onslaught. He suddenly felt very tired and dropped to his knees. Natsu yelled his name in panic and ran over to him. Hikari smiled. "Don't worry Natsu he's okay. The more he trains the less taxing the spells will be on his magic. Take a small break and then we'll continue." She patted Gray's head before turning her attention to the damage caused by the spell. She reversed the damage by using arc of time magic. Gray sat with Natsu watching the pinkette play the video game while they drank berry smoothies. Natsu cuddled into Gray's chest. "I can't believe you're going to be a dragon slayer too~" he hummed as he nuzzled Gray's jaw. Gray smiled and kissed along Natsu's neck. Suddenly Happy came flying through the air repeating Natsu's name over and over again. "Natsu Natsu Natsu look what I found~" he yelled excitedly before dropping something in front of Natsu. It was a silver key. But not just any key. It was a celestial gate key. "Wow it's a gate key just like Lucy's...Where did you find this Happy?" Natsu asked softly. "It was in the river. I found it when I was fishing." Hikari came over to examine it. "That's the gate of the swan , Cygnus." Natsu hummed. "Hikari would I be able to learn Celestial magic?" Natsu asked. "Of course. Once you've given birth you can learn pretty much any magic you want. But in the meantime I can call the spirit for you so you can at least make the contract and bond with the spirit." Natsu nodded excitedly. "Open gate of the swan , Cygnus." Hikari called out and with a flash of gold light the spirit appeared. A large regal swan stood before them. She spread her wings and started preening. Natsu was a little shy as he cautiously reached out a hand. "May I make a contract with you?" He asked politely. The swan lowered her head to rest on his hand before lightly nibbling on his fingers making him giggle at the ticklish feeling. "You may. I am Cygnus the swan spirit. I'm available on Monday , Wednesday , Thursday and Sunday." Natsu agreed to the dates. He took In Cygnus's full appearance. He realised her feathers weren't completely white , there were pastel hues of pinks and blues , lilacs , pale yellows and mint green among the snowy white. Her body almost seemed to be glowing. She was very beautiful. Natsu squeaked in surprise as a large feathery wing wrapped around him and he was brought close to Cygnus's chest. The swan had started grooming him. Natsu whined but had no choice but to comply. Gray was laughing at his boyfriend's predicament until Cygnus ushered him into her little grooming space. "Who's laughing now Gray~" Natsu giggled as he snuggled into Gray letting Cygnus do what she wanted with them. Hikari grinned cheekily as she explained why Cygnus was so intent on grooming them. "Cygnus is known to be very motherly. So she thinks of you two as her little cygnets~" Natsu blushed and cuddled into Cygnus' soft down. After some cuddles and grooming Cygnus showed them her magic. Besides flying very fast she could use ice magic and healing magic. He feathers could become stiff and sharp like needles and she could use them as a weapon or as a shield. Eventually Cygnus returned to the spirit realm. Natsu sat in his safe area with Happy while Gray continued his training. He was trying to learn a dragon slayer secret art. He panted heavily as he failed for the fifth time. The secret arts were a lot harder than they looked. He questioned how Natsu could do it so easily. He tried for the sixth time. "Ice dragon secret art. Shiva's wrath." He yelled. This time a women with white hair and a dress made of ice appeared. She screamed and sharp icicles shot up from the ground as hail the size of tennis balls rained down on them. Anyone else would of been impaled or knocked unconscious by the hail. But Gray was unaffected and Hikari , Natsu and Happy had protective charms around them. He smiled proudly now that he'd gotten the spell right however it was draining. He felt dizzy and tired and before he realised what was happening he'd collapsed. Natsu ran to him and gently smoothed his hair out of his face. Hikari lifted Gray up. She noticed the considerable weight difference between him and Natsu and decided to make sure to keep an eye on Natsu's eating habits. Natsu tucked Gray into bed and decided to cuddle up to him. His head was resting over Gray's heart as he listened to the alpha's slightly fast paced heart beat and heavy breathing. He soon joined Gray in taking a nap. Happy curled near their heads.
