Chapter Seven: (Amy)
“Now get in the cage and shut up!” The brute says as he roughly shoves me into the dank, dark room. I cry out as I expect to hit the stone floor hard, but instead, Arms catch me.
“Amy!” A familiar voice says. After a moment, my eyes adjust to the sudden darkness, and I look up to see Eric looking down at me, his brown eyes concerned behind his now cracked glasses. I bury my face in his chest, biting my lip to keep from crying as he hugs me.
“Thank god you’re here!” I say, though I wish neither of us were actually here. “What are they gonna do to us?” I ask after a few minutes.
“I—I don’t know…but…I keep hearing screaming and…muttering.,.” He stammers, as he always does when he’s nervous.
“You don’t think they’ll…kill us…do you?” I ask, not wanting to hear the answer. He shakes his head, though he looks uncertain. Tears start to rise to my eyes as I think of all those who might have been killed already…My parents…Roxy…Oh god…this is just too much to bear… I sit down in the corner of the cell and pull my knees up to my chest, sobs starting to choke me. I feel Eric put his arm around me and ease me into a hug, patting my hair and whispering. “It’s okay…It’s okay” into my ear.
“Yo lovebirds! Come with me!” A rough but female voice makes us both jump. I pull away awkwardly from Eric and see a strong but not so savage looking woman standing in the door to the cell, flanked by a guard on either side of her. Neither of us move, instead we just sit there like two wounded animals, unable to do anything but watch. We hear a rattling of keys as the door to the cell opens. My heart pounds in my throat as footsteps come closer and closer to us. Then, yet again, I feel rough hands pulling me to some new version of hell. The door swings shut and to my surprise, they only take me out of the cell. Eric runs forward and grabs the bars.
“Wait! Don’t hurt her! Please!” He shouts, trying to tug the bars from the wall with his strong hands.
“Don’t worry little loverboy… we won’t… but your little girlfriend will be…different… when you see her again.” The woman says, an evil hint in her tone. I start struggling against the man, kicking and screaming with all my might, but it’s no good. With Eric screaming my name down the hall, I get dragged down into a room with a strange green light. I’m strapped down to a table with people wearing plastic suits surrounding me. The woman leans over me and whispers five words.
“Prepare to lose your humanity.”
Panic starts to set in as the woman leaves the room, sliding shut a thick metal door behind her. I struggle against the straps, but they hold me tight. One of the suited people opens a hidden door in the back of the room and brings out a small, rounded stone with a greenish glow with a pair of pliers. Something inside me snaps and I know that that stone should be nowhere near me. I scream raggedly as pain rips through my entire body. The plastic man brings the stone closer and closer to me and the pain becomes much more intense. He touches to my forehead and I new torture erupts from my body that makes the old pain seem minor. It’s too much for me to take and my body goes into shock. I’m blind and deaf to anything except the pain. Even my own screams seem to drown in the agony.
