Moving Out
Dahyun had packed all of her stuff with the precious help of her cousins, Jeong and Chaeng. The No Jam brothers instantly bawl in tears when they heard the news. It was all sudden. Well, her father said exactly once again.
'There is this opportunity in the area that I couldn't figure out,'
And now, this is the second time she heard this from her father. The first time is when they moved out from Montreal to Boston because of the same reason. But now, 'what's the point?' Dahyun thought.
The company he's handling is all right, though.
"Are they really sure you need to move out?" Chaeyoung asked tugging Dahyun's shirt. The cub's eyes were still red and puffy, maybe she's crying all night since this is the last day the pale girl will be in this house.
"Chaeng. Brookline and Cambridge is just minutes away! It's not like we'll be miles far from each other!" The eagle said and slapped Chaeyoung's hand lightly, "I'll sneak out if I must," she whispered but Jeongyeon caught her.
"Oi! Don't be a thickheaded brat girl! Even if you are in Cambridge I won't let you wander all around there!" The ostrich said sternly.
"No jam!" Dahyun retorted sticking out her tongue.
The three placed all Dahyun's boxes in the rental moving truck her parent's paid for assistance on their heavy furniture and appliances.
"All done," Dahyun sighed, wiping all of her sweats dripping on her forehead, "We stink,"
"You, only," The smallest of them points her and they all laughed.
In the middle of their beautiful moment, a phone vibrated from Jeongyeon's pocket, she fished it out and smiled after reading a text.
"Welp. I need to go, Nayeon is waiting at the coffee shop," She excused herself, "Dahyun behave all right?" She added and waved.
The two-eyed her until she got out from the duo's sight.
"You see how love moves?" Chaeyoung blurted out all of a sudden. Dahyun's brows furrowed, "Jeongyeon-unnie is just contented with herself and so much full of herself too before. But when Nayeon-unnie came, she's so whipped," she added with a giggle and Dahyun too.
"What are you trying to say?" The pale girl asked.
"I don't know. How does love work? Or maybe how does love changes you in things you didn't even know?" Chaeyoung looked up into the sky with a grin, "I wanted to feel it too, and not to be alone,"
And Dahyun gazes at her.
Skeptically.
Questioning.
Learn? Feel? Love?
She scoffed.
No fucking way.
"You know? You're just hungry, let's eat," Dahyun pulled the small inside her house and asked the maids to prepare snacks for them. Though in the middle of her food, she recalled what Chaeyoung said.
To feel loved?
Like Jeongyeon-unnie and Nayeon-unnie's relationship...
Can I have that too?
And then she shook her head avoiding the question. Because it was ridiculous! She's young...
So young for that thing.
