Calabria, Italy
Wide blue eyes, flushed cheeks, parted pulp lips, pale skin. She was beautiful, shaped like an angel, with a face so innocent. She was fragile, delicate, but he felt the rage that was burning inside of her, the fury that radiated through her heart.
She was a pure creature, something that he wasn’t meant to touch with his scarred, brutal hands. He had no desire to hurt her in any way, but her smell: flowery with a hint of sweetness, drove him over the edge. He leaned down until his nose was inches from the skin below her ear, panic and terror beat a desperate rhythm under her skin.
"Please, " she pleaded with so much hope in her soft voice.
"I won't hurt you, principessa. You don't have to fear me."
His warm hand traced the smooth skin of her throat, then his fingers wrapped around it. Her pupils dilated but he put no pressure into his touch. He wanted to claim her, but he was a patient man, and now she was his wife.
" You are mine now, Bianca. Mine to touch, mine to claim, mine to feel."
He stared down at her furious face and the hard set of her lips as he spoke.
"You made a vow to me today. Don't you ever forget that, mia cara."
She inhaled sharply. The tension in her body remained but she didn’t push him away or say anything. She was conflicted he could tell.
He wanted to touch her pure body with his bloody hands. He wanted to rip that white dress off of her and bury his anger deep into her soul. But he took his time to admire her beauty, and somehow, she managed to soften his desires.
For several heartbeats, they stared at each other and unspoken words seemed to hang in the air between them. He pushed her chin up, his cold grey eyes scanning her face.
