Birchpaw is a rebel.
Every time he can make something different, he does it. Whether it's deliberately collecting tree bark instead of moss for the elders or creating ominous prophecies and trying to make a rival clan believe in them, he is always pining to do something different than what is expected.
They say he's a rule-breaker, but... he's not really, is he? Isn't he just doing what he wants? Being free? But sometimes, the cost of freedom is death.
~~~Between a StarClan cat trying to save her former clan by brainwashing a young cat and that very cat doing everything in his power to cause chaos, this story follows Birchpaw as he goes along the definition of freedom - and tries to show every cat how being normal is wrong. However, on the way, cats attempt to change him - whether with claws or words. Birchpaw is not meant to exist in this world, where rules are everything; will he remain sane as he is and calm the untamed soul pining inside him, or will he break like a wave in the sea, pouring destruction over the clans and destroying them?
Why I recommend this: This book is amazing. Another of my favorites, of course (that's why it's in this book). Birchpaw is such an interesting character, and every page, I keep wondering when he's going to get banished for his antics.

Alright, back to why I recommend it.
I'm sure everyone had wondered what it would be like for a cat to refuse their warrior name. What would happen if a cat said "No," in place of "I do." Well, hopefully the answer's coming soon!
The quality of the writing is incredible, as is the grammar. There are little-to-none typos (as it is for pretty much every fanfic on this list), and I'm grateful for that.
