Chapter 2
Emmie
If anyone told Emmie that she was going to be in the haunted mansion she would have told them to stop joking around and get real. Yet here she was knocking on the door and hoping someone would answer. Jessy, Sandra and her were going to do this for awhile now, yet now she was alone in the used to be garden of Paradise and they were at the gate.
"Hurry up and Knock." Zavia called.
Jessy nodded. Emmie Gulped. Since when did we do something this dangerous? She thought to herself. She reached her shaking pale fingers up to the stone faced gargoyle and knocked. The sound was so loud that it made Emmie Jump back in fright when she turned around Jessy and Sandra were go Did they just abandon me?! Then a creak made her turn around. A boy around her age was looking at her.
"Do I need to scare you away to?" he said than sighed
"What do you want?"
The boy was shocking in several different ways. From the way he looked at her with happiness and anger. How he stood confident but cowering. But the thing that shocked Emmie the most was his eyes blue in one and half blue half purple. The boy sighed again and cocked his head. She laughed.
"Want to come in?" Emmie sighed she had nothing to do at her house and this boy was realy realy realy cute.
"Sure why not." she said. The boy opened the door wider so she could slip past him. When she came into the house everything changed. Two marble staircases led to the upper level. On the bottom floor the marble pillars were lavishly decorated into two swans' sides. The candelabras had mini animals and people dancing next to a bonfire which was the candle itself. Emmie was at a loss for words all she could do was stare in wonder.
"Like it?" his voice cut over her thoughts. She looked at him for a second then she ran and hugged him. There was a small oof as he collapsed under her wait. She laid there for a while and he made no move to push her off. After a few moments she slowly got to her feet and helped out a hand for him to get up to. He stared at her for a moment registering what to do before he recently took her hand to pull himself up. It only took a moment for Emmie to realize he was blushing.
"What's your name?" Emmie asked after a while.
"Fen." His voice was dull and bewildered and Emmie had a good idea why. After a few moments of awkward silence he led her to a balcony. And they both stared at the vast land that they called home. After what seemed like mere seconds the sky was pitch black. Still she wanted to stay and talk. Finally he stood up and with a firm tone he said.
"This has been fun and all but you should be going home right now." She pleaded for more time but he refused. Finally she obliged and left. As she walked home she thought about how intimidating he was.
