Gwen
I go into the main building with my bags to get signed in."Hello! And welcome to this wonderful camp of Christ! Where his spirit is everywhere and you get to connect to him through nature! What's your name?" A cheery camp counselor greets me.
Oh god these two weeks are going to be unbearable.
"Gwendolyn Williams," I respond with a steel voice.
"Alright Ms. Williams, you'll be in A-Frame 9 with Serina Davis. If you go out the front doors and follow the path on the right, you'll find it in no time. I'll see you guys at dinner in an hour at the dining hall. Oh, and by the way, I'm Neil."
I nod and leave quickly. I might as well set up the space I'll be living in for the next two weeks.
I make my way out the front doors and follow the path on the right. Just like Neil said, I made it there in no time. Its probably only five minutes before I'm standing in front of the small A-Frame. Great. Being a tall person in a small space isn't fun. I open the door and step inside. I look to my right and see a bed already made with belongings surrounding it. So, I head towards my bed on the left.
I set my bags down and start to unpack. I sit on my bed and hear a slight crunch. Damn, this mattress is crusty. Whatever. I make my bed. I only brought light bedding seeing as its summer. Just as I finish up, I hear the screen door open, and I look up.
"You must be Serina," I say with a small smile. If I'm going to be living with this girl, the least I can be is nice.
"Yep! You're Gwen, right?" She says with a dazzling smile.
I'm caught slightly off guard by this, but manage to say "That'd be me" before it could get awkward.
She's very pretty. Her blonde hair is in beach waves and her kind eyes are a beautiful honey brown. All of this is complimented by her big, bright, beautiful smile that makes me feel like I could tell her my deepest secret. No, I could never do that. Especially not here. Not if I dont want to be an outcast for the next fortnight.
She looks down, shy.
I had to think quick.
"Sorry I was staring, you've just got the prettiest smile I've ever seen" I say stupidly. Shit shit shit, she's going to know my secret if I cant keep those thoughts in my head. These next two weeks should be interesting.
She flashes me a relieved smile.
"Thank you," she says with a small laugh, "I thought I might have had something in my teeth.""Nope, just a beautiful smile," I say with a small blush. Damn girl, enough with the compliments. You dont want her to smell the gay on you, do you? I think to myself. Definitely not.
I save myself by saying, "Want to head to the dining hall? Dinner should be soon."
She gives me a lopsided grin and says, "I'm starving. I hope they have Jello."
