Part 14

Johnny woke up Sunday morning from being shaked

"Johnny, get up." His mom said

"What, mom?!" He groaned as he sat up

He was wearing a white tank top and a pair of grey shorts

"Mr Ziegler's here to talk to you about your punishment." She said "Now get up."

Johnny got out of bed and put slippers on and followed her downstairs.
He saw his dad and Mr Ziegler sitting in the sofa and he had a bag

"Sit down." Johnny's dad told him and Johnny sat in an armchair

"Kenzie told me you apologised on Friday night. That's takes guts, I appreciate it." Mr Ziegler said

"It's fine. She deserved an apology. I'm just sorry I didn't apologise sooner. And that punch... I deserved worse." Johnny told him

"Well we can't change the past, can we?" His dad said

"Kenzie said you were talking about making me work on the farm?" Johnny asked

"Yeah, we agreed on that. You'll be doing unpaid work for a month." His dad said

"Every day?" Johnny asked

"No. We worked out a schedule. Monday and Friday afternoons, so it doesn't interfere with your basketball and soccer practise. And all day Sunday." Mr Ziegler told him

"Ok. That's fair enough." Johnny said

"So you'll need these." Mr Ziegler said throwing him the bag

Johnny opened the bag and pulled out a pair of work boots and a pair of blue denim dungarees and red overalls

"Thanks." He joked

"Your dad told me your size. If they don't fit tell me."

"Why don't you try them on? Give us a fashion show." His mom joked and they all laughed

Johnny laughed as he went upstairs.
He took off his shorts and put the dungarees on and the boots and went downstairs

"Woah, you suit dungarees." His dad joked as he walked to the middle of the room

"When do I start?" Johnny asked

"Next Sunday."

The next day, Johnny pulled over outside Kara's house and got out of the car.
He walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell.
Kara opened the door and let him before she kissed him

"You ok?" She asked him

"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you and Max?"

"He's a bit confused and upset. I'm ok." She said before they kissed again

Johnny broke the kiss as he saw Max walking downstairs

"Hey, you alright dude?" He asked him

Max smiled and nodded at him

"Mom, when's the pizza coming?" He asked Kara

"Soon. Go get some plates out."

"Ok." Max said before he walked into the kitchen

"Pizza? Thought you were cooking?" Johnny asked as he moved his arms round her stomach

"I tried to cook, then remembered I couldn't... sadly I remembered as I was putting the fire out." She joked

Johnny laughed before he connected their lips.
