Alyne Santos
"Good morning father, where are you off to?" I asked sitting down on the couch trying to adjust my shoe lace, our school uniform is pretty cute compared to the others but i have an issue with wearing knee high socks... I cannot find my size of socks, its not because i have small feet but because i have long legs
"I have to attend another meeting this afternoon so i have to get every paperwork finished by 12, wish me luck honey" Father approached me kissing the top of my head
I always enjoy these simple mornings with Father, eating breakfast with him, complaining about this noisy bird that always settles down by my window, joking about loving work...
"Good luck father, wait... who'll drive me home then?"
"Oh our neighbor has a daughter who also attends your school so i asked her if you could get a ride this morning and they happily agreed. Good bye honey!" Father cheerly left the house, ever since we moved houses we lost track of the time and we don't get to wake up as early anymore which means less time together
After a minute it finally strucked me that i'm all alone. After my mother died, Father never spoke anything about her but i did heard from Uncle that she died by giving birth to me, they could only save one of us and Mother begged father and the doctor to save me instead... Father was devastated to find out about the situation, he loved both of us so much but he knew Mother would hate him if he chose her instead of me to live... so he agreed to save me and said his last goodbye to Mother, Uncle told me that Father once mentioned at her funeral 'Mas maganda na masaktan ako na sobra kaysa naman sa iyak iyakin ni Marielle bawat gabi sa pagkamatay ng kanyang nagiisang anak... di ko kayang makita ang sakit sa kanyang mata kaya kinailangan ko siyang bitawan'
I love her even if i have never met her yet.... i really love her
"Hello? Is Alyne here?" A voice called out by the gate pulling me back to reality, i'm sure that's the student Father talked about
I grabbed my stuff and ran outside, I locked the door and petted chowie, our guard dog, and kissed him goodbye
"Oh!" The girl had a surprised expression when we made eye contact
"Oh?"
"You're that new girl in our school! Thats why you seemed familiar! Anyways how rude of me, hey i'm Mae Dela Cruz! A fourth year" she smiled brightly still on the other side of the gate
I went out of the gate and turned back to her "i'm also a fourth year i'm really happy i met you! Now I have another friend besides Noah"
"Noah Ramos? That tall ugly guy?" She asked jumping in the car waiting for me to get in also
"Yeah?"
"Oh he's my friend too! I hope we'll be classmates so you could join me for break time i have two more friends who are fourth years" Just as she chatted with me i also got in the car
Its a surprise that she has a driver, we're rich but I don't really feel comfortable when someone works for us thats why i convinced father not to hire any maids or driver
"Thats cool, i hope i could meet them soon" i replied getting comfortable on the leathered seats
I mentioned us moving in and Mae replied saying that she wasn't around the time we arrived because of issues with her "work"
Yes she even did the apostrophe herself
