Nightingale Syndrome

Chapter 14

-3rd POV-

It has been 3 weeks and three days; almost a month since Izumi was taken away from the League of Villains. But everything is falling into place. It's only a matter of time till Izumi- no - Nightingale makes her move.

"So what did the principal wanted?" at this question, the 'deku squad' paused their eating and waited for Izumi to answer. "Ahh... It's actually the detectives who wanted to see me. The heroes were just there to monitor my movements." after taking a bite of her melon bread though, she smiled sheepishly. "I also might have had a panic attack... But I'm okay now!" she broke a piece of her bread and brought it near Shoto's lips. "Say ahh~" the three teens watching the two looked at each other worriedly. They have noticed that Todoroki was unusually close to Izumi these past days, and it worries them. Uraraka doesn't really trust Izumi and Iida had his doubts too. Izuku regarded this situation the worst though, he knows that Izumi is still hiding something from them and her being with Todoroki so suddenly made him anxious. It's not like he trusts Izumi, but it's not like he doesn't trust her either. It broke his heart that he's part of the reason why his sister became a villain, why she's being watched by heroes, and being the reason why he can't fully put his trust in his sister.

"Soooo uh... How did you two exactly meet Todoroki? You two seem very close." Uraraka asked, Iida catching the drift immediately nodded his head. "Well... We actually met when we were four years old... I was by myself at the park near my home. Then she came up to me asking for directions." Izumi nodded with a smile, "I remember that! That was my first errand for grandma, and I got lost." Izuku blinked and made a sound of recognition. "oh... Now that you mention it... When Micchan gained her quirk she got sick because your stomach was still not used to ingesting raw herbs. So we asked grandma to look after you because you have the same quirk as her." Iida regarded this information with thought, 'So they were originally childhood friends... I see how they can be close... But this close is a little bit worrying' Uraraka nodded nothing them to continue.

"After she went away, my old man made me do his rigorous training again. Sometimes I wished she never needed to leave..." Izumi held Todoroki and rubbed circles on the back of his hands. "We met each other again when I went to the park to calm myself down. I go there everytime before going home so when I arrived there, she was crying. I didn't really pay her any mind at first but I decided that I should at least talk. I'm glad I did too, because after that we met everyday on that same spot. It stopped though... A year ago." Iida nodded, his arms crossed. In his head he was trying to figure out why he felt as if Todoroki's story was false, although technically speaking, his story falls in line with Izuku's. Uraraka was no different, she trusts Todoroki no doubt, but with Izumi being so close to the chrome teen, she just felt very uneasy.

In the darkness of an alley stood a person with a tall build, he stood there looking at the starless sky. His shoulders started to shake as he tried to contain his amused laughter. "Oh how amusing you turned to be. I'm looking forward to meeting you again." the figure let a dark chuckle as he disappeared into the pitch black darkness.

"Mhhmm!! This omelette is super tasty! I didn't know almond milk could make eggs taste better!" Shigaraki let out an irritated sigh before taking a bite of his own omelette, trying his very best to ignore the psychopathic blonde beside him. "I only found out about that when Nightingale introduced it to me. She's very skilled in the kitchen indeed! If she were to marry--" "She'd be the best wife in the whole world! End of discussion!" Shigaraki interrupted, before grumpily shoving another spoonful of omelette to his mouth. Toga stared at Shigaraki before grinning widely, "Is Shiggy in love with this Nightingale person?! Oooohhh!!! Tell me all the details!! Can I stab him or her? " she was clearly excited over the topic of love. Shigaraki finished his food and glared at the blonde, "Hah?! You lay a finger on her, I'll make sure to torture you so bad you'll beg me to kill you!" Kurogiri cleared his throat as the tension began to escalate. "Well someone's possessive. They got a history or something?" Magne who was silent up til now spoke, leaning her head on her hand. "I would say so. The both of them are unusually attached with each other. I'd say they act like they're already been married for years." Magne hummed. 'Ahh... Young love indeed'

Todoroki sat inside a cafe and was currently reading a book titled: Psycho. It was a story where the main character is trying to find the truth about herself and her past, he could relate to the character in one way or another. Since both of them had dual quirks and... Family issues. He was about to turn to the next page when a woman in her early twenties asked if she could take a seat across from him, he glanced around and saw that the cafe is getting crowded so he nodded politely.
The woman smiled and ordered herself something while Todoroki continued to read. In a small distance away, Aizawa kept a close eye on his student.

"That's a good book! I've read that before and I still reread it til now." The woman exclaimed as she took a bite on her cake. Todoroki glanced at the woman before responding. "I just started to read this book so I'm not sure if I'll get hooked into it..." the woman nodded and Aizawa could see that the woman was beginning to get awkward. So he deducted that this woman was a normal civilian. "So w-which part are you on?" Todoroki shrugged, "The main character gets caught, but from what I've read so far, in her pursuit for the truth, she'll be running to one place to another." the woman nodded and finished her treat before ordering again.

Aizawa watched as Todoroki continued to read while the woman continued to eat. Just when he was about to approach his student another person appeared. "Shoto! Sorry I'm late! I lost track of time.." it was none other than Todoroki's older brother Todoroki Natsuo. "Its fine. I'll be going now, thank you for your company." the younger Todoroki said and left before the woman could stutter out a reply. "Guess I didn't have to watch him..." Aizawa muttered before leaving the cafe.

What he didn't know was that as he left, the woman smiled brightly before calling a certain someone.
