2 days previous ( to waking up )
I knew what tonight was. Tonight was 'The taking' as the people around here called it. Each eclipse just by chance one girl aged between 16 and 18 went missing and she was never seen again. Some people wanted it to be their daughters and others went to the extreme of moving away for a month around this eclipse to protect their families.
I remember that my mum had told me the story of the beast when I was little when I was gulliable enough to believe her stories but by now i had realised thst they were just old folk tales. I reckon a girl runs away to escape this town full of mad people and used the story of the beasty as a cover up for them wanting to rebel and leave.
It was really hot all day and in the evening so I decided to sleep with my window open to have a nice breeze coming through the window. As usual I had stayed up reading quite late but I decided that I'd better get some sleep so I turned off my light and fell into a deep sleep.
The next thing I knew there was warm aim tickling the side of my face and I thought it was just the wind, so I tugged the duvet higher up wrapping it around my small body. I couldn't be bothered to close the window I'd sort it in the morning. Just as quickly as I tugged the duvet up it was yanked roughly out of my grip causing me to wake with a jump. And that's when I saw HIM or should I say it.
Glowing yellow eyes stared at me as I woke up terrified. I was about to scream when a large hand wrapped around my mouth and a low growl erupted from this monster that was in my bedroom. He picked me up bridal style and i flailed in his arms whilst kicking and punching him even theough it had no effect on him and he continued to carry me out of my bedroom window. I was going to scream again when he covered my mouth muffling my petrified scream. My bedroom was on the third story of my house there was no way that I was going to survive a jump from that height but as I waited for the impact nothing came. I opened my eyes to find that I was still being held but now we were on the ground safe, or as safe as i could be with this monster ,and in one piece. He started running towards the woods and I panicked. I kicked him and flailed my arms around but eventually I ran out of energy, thats when my head hit the tree sendng me into unconsiousnes.
I woke up to the sun in my eyes and I was lying on the ground next to a beautiful lake with a waterfall flowing gracefully into it. The green grass was crisp beneath my feet as I stood up but when I looked around for my kidnapper he was no where to be seen. I began to run towards the woods as I took my chance of an escape whilst checking behind me to see if I could see my kidnapper. I then looked forward and ran straight into a solid wall of muscle. He looked fuming and may as well have smoke erupting from his ears.
"MINE!" he bellowed and I was terrified so I ran in the other direction towards the lake when my feet were taken from beneath me and this time I felt an impact. But not from the ground from the water in the lake. I hadn't had time to catch my breath before being pulled under again. I was dragged through the water forcefully and I hit my head on a large rock bigger than my own head as we surfaced on the inside of the waterfall. I saw a worried look on my kidnappers face and I thought like he actually cared. The legend isn't real it couldn't be could it?? Then I blacked out.
The last thought I had was that he really was mental and needed to be more careful with me even if he was going to eat me. Or make me his bride like those old folk tales said but that's impossible werewolves don't exist. do they???
