Struck above~

Starmoon's POV~

That she-wolf knew something. And what? I have no clue. I watched her carefully. She seemed to be watching us too. Like she was absorbing every little detail of us.

It's been two days since we had been taken, prisoner. It's unusual for Flamestrike to wait this long before coming to save wolves. Something most is terribly wrong. It worries me. We could plan an escape, which may seem like the most reasonable idea, wasn't. We don't know this territory at all. So, in theory, if we were to escape they would simply corner us since they know the layout. I would rather not risk that they might start treating us like actual prisoners.

It seemed like all of Soft Wind was tense, like they were expecting the attack too.

"Firefur! Don't stuff your self full! Save some for Flamepelt and me!" My eyes opened as I heard Firefur gobbling down some prey. Flamepelt started to wake at the sound of my remark.

Stretching, I padded over to Firefur and shoved him out of the way. I split the last bit into halves.  One for me and one for Flamepelt. Firefur whined slightly. I whacked him in the head with a paw. It was light of course, but it still made him mad.

"What was that for?!"

"For being puppyish."

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

"You two stop, your both acting like puppies now," Silver said in a snap. Firefur growled slightly. I held my ground. I looked at the wolf in the eye. She simply stared back at me, I lowered my eyes in submission and defeat.

A smile cracked at Silver's lips, "If you guys need more food tell me, mk?"

Firefur's tail wagged despite the frown he wore over his smile at more food. My smile faded- why was she so interested in us? Despite my thoughts, I shook my head, "Firefur will be fine, thank you."

She frowned as if I had rejected her somehow. I didn't puzzle on her for long. I started to worry about how come Flamstrike wasn't here already. We were Match's heirs. Or at least my brothers, I had not planned on becoming an alpha unless necessary.

The sun had soon set, slowly I watched as the moon rose. I froze. It was red. Blood red.
