Welcome to Bluebird Woods

     I woke up to my loud/annoying alarm and turned it off. I took a quick shower then sat in front of the mirror to start my usual morning speech. I stared at my big blue eyes in the mirror and said "Rin Evans, you can do it!. Just one more month left at the diner and you'll be free"
My father entered the room interrupting my speech and smiled saying "You still do that?"
I smiled saying "I'm actually glad that Mr. Smith was right about one thing"
He laughed so hard and said "Hurry up you're gonna be late"
Nodding I got up and put on my yellow converse that matches my yellow loose hood and ran downstairs. My mother stood between me and the door and said angrily with her accent "I swear to god that if you skip breakfast one more time, I'll make you sleep in the attic"
My father left the kitchen faking fear and saying "Trust me, You don't wanna try sleeping in the attic!"
I laughed and kissed my mother's cheek and raced my father to the car. It's a very small town but dad got too used to driving me to the diner so I don't mind. 

     After exactly five Ed Sheeran songs and making fun of the other cars _as if we're riding a Lamborghini_ we arrived at diner. I took a deep breath and said under my breath "I hate this place"
My father patted my long blonde hair and whispered "No pain, No gain"
He sighed and said "I remember how you used to love this place"
"Until Peter became the manager"
Without taking my eyes off the ground I left the car. walked slowly to the door and entered. As expected Peter walked to me and pointed at the clock saying smugly "You're late"
I stayed calm and said "I'm not... Peter, I already told yesterday that the clock is broken"
Daren _my co-worker_ stopped what he's doing and said "Yeah, I told this morning"
Peter felt beaten for a moment and said "Well... Why didn't you fix it?"
"Because it's not my job!"
"Rin, Fix the clock" Peter said that and hurried behind the counter.
I fixed the clock and left Daren feeling amazed (as if it was the first time I fix something ) and started my job as a waitress.

     I finished my shift and started my way home on foot. Instead of going straight home I took the turn into the woods. Choosing the widest area, I laid on the ground and watched the birds flying all around. I started daydreaming about opening my own workspace and... falling in love. I started whispering "Can we please talk about something else but college?"
I smiled when I heard a bird answering me and closed my eyes and continued whispering "No, That's not true. I love this small town and I-"
A male voice interrupted my conversation "Are you okay?"
I jumped in a panic then I this new young face I've never seen before and stared in silence. He smiled saying "I thought you were... never mind"
I smiled saying "I'm okay. Thank you"
He nodded in an awkward silence so I said "Are you new here?"
He smiled saying "Yeah, we just moved here. I'm Aaron"
"Rin. Nice to meet you".

     And just like that, we started walking together through the woods and talking. He didn't talk much because he was so shy. To break the ice I started talking to him about our small town Bluebird Woods. Little by little, he started asking questions... weird ones like "Do you have hospitals here?"
I said sarcastically "No when we get sick we go to see a yoga instructor"
He laughed and said "I'm sorry, It's just a very small town"
"I know... we basically just walked through the woods that surround the whole town.. but trust me it's full of wonders"
He said curiously "Like what?"
"That's a story for another time..."
I pointed and said " That's my house"
He looked at me and said sarcastically "Of course... That would work as a movie"
"What?"
"I live right there" He pointed at the abandoned Anderson's house next to mine. I laughed " I get what you mean"
I smiled sadly when I remember our old neighbors and I said " When did you move here?"
He was about to answer but an angry loud male voice interrupts us "Where the hell have you been?"
I looked where the voice came from to see a handsome, muscular and sweat guy. I looked back at Aaron who looked at me shyly and then said in a calm tone "I wanted to have a look at the town"
The other guy finally noticed me and said to Aaron "Who is she?"
HE does know that I'm standing right here and I can answer for myself right? Aaron said angrily "Damien!... This is Rin"
He looked at me embarrassed and said "Rin, This is Damien"
The guy called Damien checked me one last time with an angry look and said to Aaron " Come on in. I'm not going to do everything alone!"
Aaron said quietly "Why don't you call your friends to help you?"
I felt like a parasite so I waved shortly at Aaron and walked away.

     I ran upstairs to my room and laid on the bed feeling so angry. I remembered Damien's Hazel eyes and his brown short hair. That proves my theory that every handsome guy/girl have to be jerks!. A loud familiar voice interrupted my thought so I jumped up to see Perrie and Noah running to me and hugging me. It was a messy moment and we were all screaming until we fell on the bed _Still hugging each other. My parents stood at the door laughing at us and then they left. Perrie talked fast and happily "I missed you guys so much! I can't believe we're all together again" 
Noah looks like he's a greek statue that came to life. With his soft Jawline, thin cheeks, straight nose, and pure blue eyes He's the most beautiful boy I've ever seen. I'm glad he hasn't changed. He still blushes easily and becomes a mess when he's uncomfortable. He's so much like me that's why we're so close.
Perrie is the spontaneous one. She acts before she thinks, has a loud voice, becomes extremely dangerous when she's excited. But we love her because there's no one has the energy that she has. She's the kindest and honest heart. I can see she finally dyed her hair blue like she dreamed. She still dresses like a hipster which makes her even cuter with her hazel puppy eyes and lite freckles.
Noah said "I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch but I swear it was all-"
I interrupted him " Noah, It's fine... I know you guys are under pressure. I know college is hard"
They looked at each other in guilt so I said smiling "I'm just glad you're here"
Perrie laid her head on my shoulder and said sadly "Have you changed your mind yet?"
I kept silent so Noah said changing the subject "So... I met someone"
Perrie screamed "What!"
I put my hand over her mouth and laughed "What?"
Noah rolled his eyes saying "I know... I finally got over Jane and I fell in love"
I scratched my neck in awkwardness in the mention of Jane's name and Perrie said "Who the hell is Jane?"
Noah looked at the ground and Perrie shouted "Are you talking about Mrs. Anderson? The woman that used to live in the house next to Rin's?"
Noah shouted "Could you keep your voice down?"
Perrie said "But why didn't you tell me?"
She looked at me asking "Did you know?"
Luckily my mother came in to tell us lunch is ready so I ran downstairs leaving Noah and Perrie in my room, hoping she won't get mad at me.

     Perrie had a call from her older brother so she left after lunch. Later me and Noah sat on the porch talking quietly about the girl Noah's dating. After moments of staring at the Anderson's house that Aaron moved into Noah said "Did you hear from her?"
"Jane?"
He nodded shyly so I said "No not really. When you guys went to college and Mr Anderson died she moved out and she never answers the phone"
I noticed how sad he is so I whispered "Noah, Jane was an older married woman. Just because she let us skate in her yard and read her books doesn't mean that she considered us anything but children"
Noah sad angrily "Yes, she was an older married woman who got beaten and hurt by her 45 years old, asshole husband and-"
I patted his arms saying "That doesn't change the fact that she considered us children"
Noah whispered "How would she kiss me if she considered me a child?"
I stared at him in shock and whispered "You kissed her?"
"She did. And I... I wanted..."
I felt panic so Noah explained in embarrassment "She's 31 and I'm 20 so that's not a problem -"
"Noah, when did this happen?"
"A week before for college"
He felt pain and whispered "Did she leave because of me?"
"No, she told me that she left because she wanted to forget her husband and everything that happened In this house"
He looked at me with his teary eyes "I'd do anything to make her come back"
He laid his head on my lap and cried. I patted his hair saying "What about your girlfriend? Didn't you say that you love her?"
Thank god he for distracted and said "Yes, I kinda do... I actually invited her to visit me. She's coming in two days"
"That's good I hope-"
A figure appeared in front of us interrupting me. Her long ginger hair and wide green eyes made me stare in shock while Noah whispered "Jane?"
