I randomly found this one in my drafts. It's not my usual rhyme scheme but it sounds like I wrote it. If anyone recognizes it as song lyrics or something let me know.
We were the kings,
Take me back to last October.
When fall was just a season,
And not the status of our empire.
We were the kings,
Before the truth came out.
When friends held no knives,
And backs needn't be watched.
We were the kings,
When push came to shove.
The advisors, the benefactors.
The elite.
We were the kings,
Don't follow our lead.
More Often times not,
Kings loose their heads.
