The goddess ran through the halls of her home looking in search of something to clean off the blood on her. It was the day Adonis dyed in her arms after he was wounded by a wild boar. Aphrodite was mortified. She witnessed a death.

Her long dress slid across the floor as she ran into the bathroom. Her hands fumbled as she turned on the sink immediately shoving her hands under the water, washing the blood off, Aphrodite wept as she did so. After all he was her spouse. Even if he was a mortal Aphrodite cared for him.

It was the the day of the festival of Adonia, Aphrodite declared for it to happen, and it did.

It was midsummer and Aphrodite couldn't focus she was never much of a daydreamer but she kept imagining golden horns and a tacky cape she tried to push it to the back of her mind but there was a urge an undeniable urge to go and find what she imagined.

And So She Did.
