CHAPTER 2

SURPRISE

'He's not your son remember, you gave up the right to become his father when you left me nine months ago' Emily hissed out in frustration

********* Flashback*********

'Um Jared do you think you could walk me home today, I need to talk to you' Emily asked in the sweetest tone she could think of.

'Yeah sure' Jared answered back, hypnotized by Emily's gaze

'Cool' she sighed out in relief. She had been anticipating this day for a very long time and she wanted it to go without any trouble. A couple of minutes passed as Emily and Jared walked along the familiar route to Emily's house.

'So what did you want to talk about' Jared asked in an unbothered tone

'Yeah well about that.....' she started, but stopped herself before she spilled out the unnerving truth to Jared. Instead she tried a different tactic, one that she had not yet practiced by herself; whilst spending countless hours in her room. 'Ok Jared this is just a hypothetical question, but what would you do if I was pregnant with your kid?' she blurted out, before she could regret what she said.

Jared paused first before answering 'Well hypothetically speaking I don't know what I would do, I........ would love to say I would be there to support you; but truthfully...... I don't think I would. I'm mean becoming at a dad as nineteen is a big step, something which I don't think I would be capable of doing. Why?' Jared turned to ask Emily  

Throughout his reply Emily listened with horror, she had not yet noticed the tears running down her cheeks until Jared snapped her out if her little thought bubble. 'Emily why are you crying, oh my god did I hurt your feelings' he asked with a guilt and confusion slowly overriding his facial expression. 'EMILY! Talk to me what's wrong? Why are you suddenly acting really strange?' He stepped closer to try and comfort Emily, but all she did was move back.

'I need to go' she whispered to Jared, then turned on her heal and tried to walk away. However she did not get far before Jared's hand wrapped around her wrist and pulled her back to him.

'YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU' Jared shouted back at her. At this anger built within Emily, she was not going to be made out to be the bad guy; especially after all that had happened to her over the past two weeks'

'YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY I'M UPSET JARED, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW?' Emily screamed back at him

'YES' Jared shouted back just as angry

'I'M PREGNANT WITH YOUR CHILD' Emily cried out

'What?' Jared mumbled back 'How..... did this..... happen?'
