ON CHRISTMAS EVE, SMALL GROUPS OF PEOPLE HAD GATHERED IN FRONT OF THE DECORATED GREAT HALL. The chatter coming from within the grand room was barely audible due to the ruckus caused by wizards awaiting their dates.

Fred Weasley found himself surrounded by his friends, his date to the event by his side, and chatting away with the curly-haired Ravenclaw who happened to attend the event with Lee Jordan.

Oddly enough, the most punctual of them all seemed to be running late. Alexandra Grindelwald was known for being someone who loathed tardiness; however, in this very instance, the witch was nowhere to be found. It struck them as odd that someone who'd been berating the Weasley boys ever since they were children for their inability to show up on time pulled such a stunt.

"...So, I'd just about finished doing her makeup when, suddenly, Alexandra grabbed all her things and locked herself in the bathroom." Freya's recollection of events broke Fred out of his reverie. "I told her that if she were planning on skipping the ball, I would have broken the door down and dragged her myself, but she assured me she only needed a few more minutes. Thank God I had already done her hair, even if instead of a 'thank you,' she threatened to hex my pumpkin juice. But Alexandra had always hated when people touched her hair, so I didn't take it to heart." The girl continued; her lack of filter only fuelling her ramblings and making Lee Jordan smile. "She was all 'you go ahead, I'll be right behind you', and I was like 'sure thing, and there's an ice-rink in hell'."

"She'll be here soon." Luna Lovegood's dreamy voice put an end to the teens' laughter. "Her aura is very particular and hard to miss."

As if they'd read each other's minds, the Weasley twins glanced at one another, both slightly puzzled by Reid's date's statement. Their silent exchange, however, did not last long, for suddenly Hannah Abbott ( Blaise Zabini's date to the ball ) let out a loud and incredulous gasp.

"Merlin!" Angelina exclaimed, her eyes trained in the same direction as the young Hufflepuff.

Everyone promptly swivelled their head towards what ( or, better yet, who ) had been the cause for the girls' reactions.

Alexandra Grindelwald was heading towards the group, head held high regardless of the people whispering as she walked past them. She radiated confidence, but it was hard to tell if it was nothing but a mere act, for she wore the same stony expression she always sported when surrounded by people she did not know or trust.

Fred Weasley was at a lack of words. Mouth slightly agape and throat suddenly dry, the wizard felt as if he was seeing the white-haired witch for the very first time.
