She Fell
She thought the beginning would be
louder, but it crept up behind her and hid
in her shadow. She fell
into the stars so softly
that no one knew to warn her
of the hard earth beneath her feet.
And just like the beginning,
when the end whispered it’s arrival,
she fell to the ground so quietly
that no one knew to call for help.
So, vision blurred, laying alone on her back,
she decided to stay, and fell
into her mind, blinking up
at the faint stars above.
