My lungs rummage for breath
Though I know this isn't death

When my eyes meet yours
The thunder roars

A storm is overhead
But the rain I do not dread

It seeps into my skin
This love feels like a sin

As lightning strikes the ground
By this secret I am bound

On this cloudy day
My soul is just as grey

Those three words in my mind
This gust of nature is not kind

When the darkness rolls aside
The sun becomes my guide

Happiness is what I seek
Heartache is what you wreak

I should not be hidden
Like a toy forbidden

My feelings are worth more
Than turned heads and closed doors

In silence that we crawl
From my eyes a drop will fall

I'm broken but do not glow
They won't see me in this shadow

Behind you I am miniscule
My mother didn't raise a fool

I will sit upon a throne
My heart is not a loan
