You see, I've been in foster care since i was five. I've always moved to different foster  houses because they say I'm a messed up kid. Maybe I am, a messed up kid I mean.

My foster carer, Sheila, is nicer than the other foster carers I've had. She doesn't treat me like I'm a freak. She lets me go to the park when I want to, when I need time to cool down, to think. Sheila always gets me presents for my birthday, unlike the others.

Walking up the familiar route, the one I always lake from the park back to the house. Looking at the greenery as I passed the gardens. Seeing all the red hats of the gnomes, the yellow of the daffodils, red of the poppies.

Remembering tomorrow is my seventeenth birthday. Hmmm, what is Sheila going to get me I wonder. I hope it's nice. But I hope it's nothing to do with One Direction unlike what I got last year. I got, last year, a stupid ridiculous poster of them smiling at the camera like they ruled the world. Well I can't stand them. They always act like they are so perfect when they're not. I prefer My Chemical Romance or Paramore.

Once I realised I am outside the house, which I only just recently thought of as my home, I opened the door.

"Sheila? I'm back" I shouted while walking though the front door.

"Hello Sweetie. How was your walk?" I love Sheila as she always makes me feel loved. She always calls me sweetie or love.

"It was fine thanks." I said, happily while running up the stairs to my room. Jumping on my double bed.

Everyone who thinks being in foster care, thinks it like Tracy Beaker but it isn't. Sheila only looks after me and she spoils me. She lets me do what I want, hang out with my friends even though I only have one friend, Luke. He's not my boyfriend like most people think, he's only my friend.

Anyway, you know when Sheila is hiding something, she gets a distance look in her eyes and is always quiet. I wonder what's she's hiding this time.

Plugging my iPod into my speakers, scrolling through the 385 songs I have, picking "It Will Rain" by Bruno Mars. He's such a talented singer. I love all his music.

Twirling around my room, wishing I could actually perform in front of people. I've always loved dancing. But never got the chance to go to dancing lessons. Sheila says it's too expensive, that's why I won't be able to go.

"Crystal, dinners ready!" Sheila shouted up the stairs.

"Coming," I shouted back.

Running down the stairs to the kitchen, I stopped in the sitting room when I heard the news come on and it started talking about Simon Cowell and One Direction.

"One Direction, in their latest interview, said about Simon Cowell adopting a teenager and that they can't wait to meet them. They sound like a special person to get noticed by Mr Cowell. Loads of people have been tweeting in wondering who this mysterious teenager is. Well who are they? That's my question. Hopefully we will find out soon."

I'm so glad it isn't me because I wouldn't be able to stand looking at those people who are probably snobs, and act like two year olds.

After dinner, I headed straight to bed, tired and excited for tomorrow. I know it's only 9 but I'm still tired.

Waking up, I saw that my clock, on the wall, say it's 8 o'clock. I must admit, that this is the latest I've ever gotten up on my birthday. I'm normally up by 6:30.

As my bedroom door is opened, I could smell the beacon cooking. I love beacon in the morning, Sheila's always does beacon for me most mornings that its became a habit.

Rolling out of bed, I put on my denim shorts and a red t-shirt. Went into the bathroom to clean my teeth. Then started to run to the kitchen.

"Morning birthday girl," Sheila greeted me, as I got into the kitchen just as she placed breakfast on the table.

"Hey Sheila." I replied, just as the doorbell went off.

Who could that be at 8:30 in the morning.

"Crystal can you get that." So I jumped of the chair, not literally, and went to the door.

Opening it, I froze.

Is that really.....
