The rest of the day was over in a flash, and no more odd moments to account for, except for my dad actually cooking, which is not very often. I checked the time on my phone, and concluded that 12 am was a good enough time to go to bed. I stared at the lock screen of my mom and I, the picture was taken before she was bed-ridden. She had Huntington's disease, which is a hereditary brain disorder, which gradually kills the nerve cells in the brain. Unfortunately the symptoms started earlier than normal in my mom, and she only lasted the bare minimum, which was 10 years. I watched the screen go black as I pressed the power button. The room was silent, and dark, as I lied on my bed with my eyes closed, trying to get myself to drift off, only being met with my thoughts and frustrations. After realizing that sleep is not gonna happen I sat up and walked to the kitchen to grab a snack. 'Maybe I'll be lucky and find some gushers or something' was really the only thought I could make out in my racing head. Of course when I got into the kitchen there where no gushers, but some off brand gummies would have to work. The shadows in the dark room seemed to run and avoid the light that appeared when I opened the fridge to grab something to wash down the sticky snack. Well all of the shadows except one anyway. A dark silhouette taller than the fridge seemed to be staring at me as I leaned against the freezer door.

Sorry it's short, I thought it was a mysterious way to end this chapter, let me know if you have any feedback , I'd love to hear it
