Boy Next Door

I smile as we drive up to our new home. A home I'd like to call forever. Sadly, nothing is forever.
I sadly smile as I think that. I get out of the car helping my dad carry the boxes since it's just the two of us. My mom passed away when I was seven.

"Hey, kiddo! lost in space there?" my dad says as i laugh at his comment "Yes, I'm now going to take off my helmet!" As I take off my "helmet" I make a 'woosh' sound as I straighten my back, acting like an astronaut. My dad belly laughs. As he hands me the key; "Do the honors, Nat." he says as he winks. I take the key and wink back "Okay, pops" I say as I wiggle the key into the keyhole and turn it as I turn the knob. I breathe in the houses smell as I walk into it. I jump up and down and smile "Dad, I love it" I say as I smile.

A couple hours later
"Hey,honey!" my dad yells from downstairs as i'm unpacking "Yeah, dad?!" I yell back as he yells back "There's someone here for you!" he says as there's a hint of a smile in his voice. I run downstairs quickly to seeee..
