At the end of the earth

Kiwi hated the dead silence at the end of the earth.

They couldn't hear Miriam screaming to try to sing the song behind her tears. They couldn't hear Audrey noticing what she had done, sobbing as she realized all the life she had wasted, homes she destroyed, lies she had told for the glory that didn't come to her. They couldn't hear their old band beginning to give a sad song, making a song no one could hear. Kiwi couldn't even hear themself doing the same thing. They began to pelt out empty notes, blending and mixing into the void of the black hole.

Kiwi hated the monochrome color at the end of the earth.

They missed Delphi's bright red leaves, directed by their voice. They missed the color-changing flowers on Mom's porch. The colorful rolling hills of Langtree, the soft blues and greens of Tatango island, the soothing yellows and crimsons of rulle, the calming blues and navy tinted crystals in chaandesh. Heck! They even missed the depressing greys of chismest. But this black and white hellscape was... unbearable to kiwi.

Kiwi hated all the destruction at the end of the earth.

The decayed remains of the spirit realm. The collapsed shell of the dream castle. The comically large cracks in the black rock. They could barely see Audrey attempt to exit the hole she was in, failing as she slid back down the crater, sobbing.

Kiwi hated the end of the earth in general.

Everything humanity had worked for in the last billions of years, the relationships and traditions they had made in their lifetimes, billions of lives yet to be lived. It was all being thrown away because audrey had to be the hero all the time. She had to kill the overseers. Kiwi was mad at themselves for being so naive to trust her, even for the one time.

But there was one thing they didn't hate about the end of the earth.

It was that they were with the person they loved most. they knew the world was ending, that this was their last chance to ever say it. kiwi looked at the woman they loved. They had to say this now, in case the earth song didn't work. In case the world really did end. They entwined their fingers into hers, she looked surprised as they stood under the bell. They especially missed her voice in particular, even if it did nag a lot. They especially missed her bright blue hair and her soft purple eyes in particular. That's why kiwi especially hated the end of the earth. Because they couldn't say this the way they wanted to, in a song or something.

They stared deep into her panicked eyes. It made them a little sad, seeing the way she felt so sad. Kiwi smiled softly. "Miriam..." They mouthed into the void. "I..." They paused.

"I Love you!"

Those words were the only ones that truly rang out into the realm, breaking the deafening silence.

Miriam began to tear up as kiwi, the bard, her bard went to do the biggest thing anyone had ever done, right after telling her they loved her. Kiwi rang the bell. The biggest thing they could ever do...

They were off to save the world
